Product Manager – Software

Description

The company builds compact solid-state radars that steer their beam electronically and work in all weather. They serve autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft and drones, border and critical infrastructure security, smart cities, and airspace management including urban air mobility.

The company combines patented metamaterial technology with its software to deliver high performance at commercial price points.

You will join a fast-growing team to support development and delivery of the radar software product. The role turns set product priorities into clear work for Engineering and checks that delivered functionality meets product requirements.

Responsibilities

• Turn product requirements and epics into small user stories with clear workflows, edge cases, and testable acceptance criteria.
• Keep the radar software backlog in Jira prioritized and current, so upcoming work is ready for development and matches product and release priorities.
• Lead backlog refinement with Engineering and order work by priority and technical dependencies.
• Act as the main Product contact during development, answering requirements questions and recording decisions and changes.
• Make tactical product decisions within the set direction, and escalate anything that affects scope, priorities, product intent, or customer commitments.
• Work with Engineering, UX, and Test to settle tradeoffs, agree on what done means, and check delivered work against requirements.
• Log defects, limitations, and follow-up work, and bring customer and field feedback to the Product team.
• Learn the software, customer workflows, integrations, and operational use cases well enough to inform product decisions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, or a related software product role.
• Experience working with software engineering teams through development and release.
• Ability to turn product requirements into clear user stories and testable acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and refining product backlogs in Jira or a similar tool.
• Working knowledge of Agile practices and an understanding of technical tradeoffs and dependencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication and close attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a technical, fast-moving setting with many stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Desired: familiarity with radar, sensor software, defense, security, or airspace management applications.

Conditions

The role is exempt.

The expected annual salary range is $114,330 to $170,980 USD.
