Description

The company is the company, which helps independent writers, artists, podcasters, videographers and other creators build sustainable businesses through direct relationships with their audiences. It builds products that give creators more freedom, ownership and ways to earn from their work.

Responsibilities

  • Help expand monetization on the company as a Product Manager.
  • Improve how readers support creators, with a focus on gifting, retention offers and the payment and subscription experience. Commerce and, over time, advertising-related monetization are also in scope.
  • Work with Payments Engineering, Design, Data, Growth and Creator Product, along with Chris Chen and the C-level leadership team.
  • Form a clear, data-informed view of what to build, argue for it with conviction, and stay open to evidence and feedback.
  • Spend time with creators and readers, moving between product strategy and the details of a checkout flow, an offer, an AI-built prototype or an experiment readout.
  • Find the most valuable ways to raise creator earnings and turn them into a focused roadmap with clear goals and trade-offs.
  • Design gifting features that let readers support creators, share value with others and strengthen paid communities.
  • Improve retention, renewal and win-back, working with Growth on offers and subscription lifecycle changes.
  • Make payment journeys clearer and more effective on web and mobile, from plan selection and checkout through successful payment and renewal.
  • Explore new monetization paths, including commerce, and help shape future ads opportunities as the business changes.
  • Use customer research, direct data analysis and quick AI-powered prototypes to test ideas before engineering time is committed.
  • Work with engineering and design to decide quickly, cut scope to learn sooner and keep product quality high.
  • Set success metrics, run experiments, interpret results candidly and follow up after launch.
  • Turn recurring creator needs and support issues into reusable product capabilities, and communicate launches clearly across teams.

Requirements

  • A track record of shipping products that improved meaningful customer or business outcomes, with a clear account of what you contributed.
  • Strong strategic thinking and product judgment. You use data and customer insight to reach your own view, make clear trade-offs, argue for your recommendations, including to senior leaders, and change course when the evidence requires it.
  • Real curiosity about how creators make a living and how readers decide what to pay for.
  • Analytical skill, including funnel and cohort analysis, experimentation and the ability to dig into questions yourself.
  • An AI-native way of working: you use AI tools and agents daily and can build working prototypes to test ideas and answer questions on your own.
  • Good design sense and product craft. You can spot and help shape intuitive, polished experiences, paying attention to what makes financial products easy to understand and trust. This may come from work at a company known for strong design or from products you have built yourself.
  • Clear writing and the ability to get engineering, design, data and business partners aligned on decisions.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and limited resources, and willingness to do the detailed work needed to ship and learn.
  • Experience in payments, subscriptions, growth, commerce, marketplaces or creator products is especially useful. Familiarity with payment providers and mobile purchase ecosystems is a plus.

Conditions

This is an individual contributor role. Candidates may lead a focused feature area or own a broader product area end to end, with scope set by demonstrated experience and impact.

Cash compensation is $210,000, $230,000. The final offer depends on several factors, including candidate experience and expertise.

Benefits

  • Market-competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits.
  • The chance to improve a core economic relationship on the company while helping creators build durable businesses in a space where how people pay for creators is still changing.
