Description

The company is a global biopharma business aiming to positively affect the health of 2.5 billion people by the end of the decade. Its R&D work finds and delivers vaccines and medicines, drawing on knowledge of the immune system and advanced technology.

This Product Director role owns the digital products behind structured, collaborative and increasingly automated creation of evidence and regulatory content. That covers clinical, non-clinical, CMC, safety, regulatory (including labelling) and publications work. The role sits within R&D Digital & Technology and turns the needs of Medical Writing, Regulatory, Safety, CMC, Clinical and Publications teams into an AI-enabled product vision.

You set strategy and roadmap, lead and grow the product portfolio, and serve as the technical expert for the programmes delivering these capabilities. You will influence at VP/SVP level and model the company's values: Ambitious for patients, Accountable for impact, Do the right thing.

Responsibilities

  • Define the product vision and roadmap for content generation and collaboration, in line with the Evidence Presentation & Regulatory strategy. Turn it into clear value hypotheses, OKRs and ranked backlogs.
  • Apply your knowledge of the full evidence and regulatory lifecycle, including clinical, non-clinical, CMC, safety, regulatory (including labelling) and publications, to make sharper product decisions.
  • Tackle bottlenecks and opportunities in structured content management, modular authoring and component reuse, so evidence is prepared with better quality, consistency and speed.
  • Work with architects and engineers on technical trade-offs. Help design scalable, reusable services and bring in emerging technology where it adds value.
  • Push an AI-first approach that makes AI, NLP and analytics the default for AI-assisted authoring, automation and decision support. Make sure AI outputs are robustly validated and that you understand the submission data landscape well.
  • Own delivery from start to finish. Sequence the backlog and release plan to test authoring hypotheses and scale proven features across asset teams. Contract vendors on outcomes and hold teams accountable for quality, pace and measurable value.
  • Build GxP, privacy and AI governance into the work from the start, so platforms are transparent, auditable and core systems of record stay well maintained.
  • Build trusted relationships and influence at VP/SVP level across Medical Writing, Regulatory, Safety, CMC, Clinical and Publications. Coach and grow a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team, modelling the company's values and an inclusive, psychologically safe culture.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or equivalent experience in a scientific, technical or quantitative field such as life sciences, computer science, engineering or mathematics.
  • Around 10+ years leading technology-focused transformation, including about 5+ years of progressively senior digital product management and leadership.
  • Substantial life-sciences experience, with direct exposure to regulatory, clinical development or related functions.
  • A record of owning and scaling enterprise digital products while managing sizeable budgets and vendor portfolios.
  • Proven experience line-managing people and building high-performing product teams.
  • Experience delivering AI, data and analytics products on modern data platforms and cloud technologies.
  • Experience working in a GxP or validated-systems setting, with strong judgement on data integrity, quality and compliance.
  • Preferred: deep experience with structured content management, modular document design or publications-management systems.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with AI-assisted authoring or NLP solutions, especially in regulated or scientific content.
  • Preferred: familiarity with GxP and validation expectations for systems used in regulatory submissions and evidence generation.
  • Preferred: proven executive influence with VP/SVP stakeholders to drive complex technology decisions and adoption.
  • Preferred: experience scaling Agile ways of working across global, multi-disciplinary teams and managing strategic technology vendor partnerships.
  • Skills listed: Agile Methodology, Cross-Functional Teamwork, Data Analysis, Design Thinking, DevOps, Prioritization, Product Development Research, Product Roadmapping, Project Management, Return on Investment (ROI), Software Development, Strategy Deployment, User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI) Design.
