The company's Corporate Sector chief information and digital office is hiring a principal network engineer for the Network Communications and Visibility team, which sits within IT Infrastructure & Operations.

The role is based at the Redondo Beach, CA campus and covers that site plus several remote locations, with enterprise-wide work across the company's network.

  • Prepare full design review packages that include schematics, bills of materials and implementation schedules.
  • Install and commission core Cisco equipment, including routers, multilayer switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and access points.
  • Manage fiber-optic and copper cabling projects alongside suppliers and internal construction teams.
  • Handle Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting for WAN, LAN and SD-WAN, keeping firewall, routing and wireless services at 99.9% availability.
  • Carry out fixes, hardware swaps and software upgrades, and keep the configuration management database (CMDB) accurate.
  • Act as the main technical contact for vendors such as Cisco, Aruba and Juniper on escalations, service definitions and onboarding new services.
  • Work with the Redondo Beach sector customers to turn their business needs into solid technical solutions.
  • Implement and enforce security policies covering network segmentation, access control and vulnerability remediation, in line with government and NIST guidelines.
  • Take part in after-action reviews, propose process improvements and coach junior engineers on strong networking practice.

Requirements

  • Hold either an Associate's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years, a Master's degree plus 3 years, or a PhD plus 1 year. A high school diploma or equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
  • Have experience with managed network solutions and with large-scale network engineering projects.
  • Have experience with Cisco routers and switches, Cisco firewalls, Cisco wireless and cellular technology.
  • Have a solid grasp of TCP/IP and Cisco router and switch products.
  • Know LAN and WAN protocols and technologies such as multicast, QoS, CoS and OSPF.

Conditions
