The company works across Innovative Medicine and MedTech, with the goal of preventing, treating and curing complex diseases through smarter, less invasive treatments and personalised solutions.
This role sits in the Data, Data Science and AI Global Development group, within the Data Analytics and Computational Sciences function, in the Data Science sub-function.
You will lead end-to-end delivery of integrated analytical solutions for defined clinical-development and trial-operations problems. You own the solution from definition through delivery, adoption and the outcomes it produces for connected stakeholder groups, using machine learning, GenAI, optimization and real-world data (RWD).
Responsibilities
Take ownership of defined business problems from first definition through development, validation, deployment and adoption of integrated data-science solutions.
Lead predictive modelling, simulations, optimization and GenAI work on study feasibility, enrollment forecasting, country and site selection, protocol design and operational planning.
Analyse clinical, operational, cost and RWD, including EHR, claims, registries and clinical-trial data, to produce evidence on patient populations, treatment pathways, feasibility and operational risk.
Lead RWD analytics that shape protocol feasibility, eligibility criteria, recruitment and retention, study design, comparative evidence and external-control use cases.
Build LLM-based workflows for information extraction, protocol comparison, data harmonization, interpreting clinical concepts and targeted workflow automation.
Work with clinical, operational, technology and data colleagues to frame questions, weigh trade-offs and turn results into recommendations that get adopted and deliver measurable outcomes.
Apply standards for model validation, MLOps, documentation, privacy, data quality and responsible AI, and contribute reusable code, data assets and technical patterns.
Explain methods, model outputs, assumptions, limitations and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Mentor junior colleagues and improve delivery practices across project teams.
Requirements
A Master's degree in computer science, engineering, biostatistics, health economics, biomedical informatics, applied mathematics or another quantitative field.
At least 5 years of industry experience leading end-to-end delivery of data-science solutions using ML, predictive modelling, optimization, NLP, GenAI or RWD analytics.
A proven record of defining, validating, deploying and driving adoption of analytical solutions that support clinical-development, clinical-operations or real-world evidence decisions.
Hands-on work with structured and unstructured clinical, operational or RWD data, including multimodal modelling and time-series or simulation methods.
Proficiency in Python and SQL, current ML, optimization and LLM development libraries, and reproducible MLOps practices.
Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical leadership skills.
Preferred: a PhD.
Preferred: experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical development, MedTech, clinical development or clinical operations.
Preferred: experience applying RWD methods to clinical-trial design, such as target-trial emulation, propensity methods, survival analysis or time-to-event analysis.
Preferred: experience delivering analytical products or applications used by clinical or business teams.
Preferred skills include advanced analytics, coaching, critical thinking, data analysis, data privacy standards, data quality, data reporting, data savvy, data science, data visualization, digital fluency, econometric models, organizing, process improvements, strategic thinking, technical credibility and workflow analysis.
