The company develops secure, integrated, multi-domain systems and technologies that support strategic planning and missions in rapidly changing global security environments.

The team is hiring at two levels: Principal Cyber Software Engineer and Sr. Principal Cyber Software Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of software engineers to design, build and roll out new enterprise systems, while keeping existing applications running through operations and maintenance.
• Build, maintain and tune a distributed Windows system based on an enterprise service bus (ESB) architecture.
• Help shape the architecture, implement systems and scale suitable technologies to meet critical mission needs.

Requirements

• An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required to be considered, for both levels. Eligibility must be in place by the start date and kept for the length of employment.
• Principal level: a bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, a master's with 3 years, a PhD with 1 year, or 9 years of relevant experience with no degree.
• Sr. Principal level: a bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, a master's with 6 years, a PhD with 4 years, or 12 years of relevant experience with no degree.
• Proven experience building applications in C,.NET Framework and ASP.Net, plus Windows development in Visual Studio.
• Solid familiarity with, and hands-on work in, Agile development environments.
• Ability to organize, rank and manage several complex tasks at once with little oversight.
• Experience working with stakeholders to refine requirements step by step and turn them into actionable user stories.
• Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot, find root causes and fix complex software defects across the full application stack.
• Preferred: experience with modern.NET (.NET 5/6/8+) and cloud-ready architectures.
• Preferred: experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and integration patterns such as an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB).
• Preferred: hands-on work with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline configuration and PowerShell scripting.
• Preferred: a self-starter who masters new technologies independently and provides technical leadership on assigned development projects.

Conditions

Based in Chantilly, VA.

Travel is required, about 10% of the time.

A clearance is required to start, and the clearance type is Polygraph.

Principal level base salary: $125,300.00 to $187,900.00. Sr. Principal level base salary: $156,400.00 to $234,600.00. These are general guidelines; the final offer depends on the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
