Principal Business Intelligence Engineer

Description

The company makes play products, and this principal role sits within its business intelligence work, based in the Renton, WA office.

You will turn business questions into data models and reporting solutions that help teams act on what the numbers show.

Responsibilities

• Work out what the business needs, map out the processes behind it, and analyze them in depth to produce insights people can act on.
• Design, maintain, and check business intelligence solutions so the data stays accurate.
• Set the data requirements and build automated data infrastructure, including data models and faster pipelines.
• Pin down business needs, define key performance indicators, and track them over time with recommendations.
• Partner with several teams and explain findings clearly to them.
• Keep documentation current and train others on the tools and reports.
• Telecommuting from a home office may be allowed for up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree, or a foreign equivalent, in business, computer science, information systems, or a closely related field.
• 5 years of experience in business intelligence engineering and business analysis.
• 5 years working with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, or similar tools.
• 5 years of advanced SQL for pulling and analyzing data.
• 5 years of data modeling and ETL work.
• 3 years of project management experience.
• The 5-year and 3-year experience areas can be gained at the same time.

Conditions

Salary is $193,300-$196,300 USD per year for 40 hours per week, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

The role is fixed in the Renton office, with telecommuting from home permitted for up to 2 days per week.

The hiring range depends on experience, skills, location, and market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of total pay, depending on role, location, and eligibility.
