Description

The company builds the largest, highest-power satellites ever flown, targeting performance that was out of reach in every orbit until now.

Investors include Altimeter Capital, ICONIQ, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures and T. Rowe Price, and total funding is over $1 billion.

Over $1 billion in signed contracts covers commercial and US government customers.

The company produces high-power satellite platforms for missions from LEO to deep space.

Heavy-lift rockets are moving the industry from mass limits to mass abundance, and the satellites are designed to survive harsh radiation and to use these larger launch vehicles at constellation scale across several orbits.

Multiple launches are planned for 2027, with a goal of 100 satellites a year.

The company is a high-growth business that has raised a Series D round.

Responsibilities

  • The Enterprise Information Systems team builds the digital backbone for satellite design, manufacturing and mission operations, linking engineering, production and mission control.
  • As a Platform Engineer on the developer experience side, you will treat DevX as a serious engineering discipline and build deployment patterns, guardrails and tools so engineers with varied backgrounds, including those working with AI assistance, can ship secure, reliable applications quickly.
  • Create golden-path deployment patterns for Amazon EKS that include guardrails and speed up production releases.
  • Support secure, consistent adoption of AI across software development, covering guardrails, governance, observability and operations for AI-assisted work.
  • Write automated policies and CI/CD gates that check code quality and test coverage and keep deployments safe.
  • Add end-to-end monitoring, alerting and SLOs to the platform.
  • Track performance and cost, including latency budgets, cross-AZ transfer, IP use and load balancer efficiency, and act on anomalies.
  • Produce clear guides, diagrams and connectivity troubleshooting flows that cut support time.
  • Prototype new AI platforms, models and developer experience tools.
  • Learn the manufacturing domain and simplify hard topics such as service identity and secure communication for platform users.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, plus 2+ years building developer tooling, platforms or deployment patterns.
  • Skill in at least one of Go, TypeScript, Python or C.
  • Hands-on work running workloads on Amazon EKS.
  • Experience with CI/CD using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, and disciplined Git practice covering branching, reviews and automated gates.
  • Practical use of AI-assisted development, with a clear sense of its benefits and risks.
  • Terraform or AWS CDK for infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with progressive delivery such as canary rollouts, and with policy-as-code.
  • Observability across metrics, tracing, structured logs, L4/L7 telemetry, and SLI/SLO definition.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or golden-path tooling.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, aerospace or other hardware-driven organizations.

Conditions

Base salary range is $123,000 to $160,000, plus equity in the company.

Pay depends on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, education and experience level.

Candidates who do not meet 100% of the preferred skills and experience are still encouraged to apply, since non-traditional career paths are welcome.

The role gives access to information and items controlled by US export control regulations, including ITAR, so you must be a "U.S. person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export license.

Under ITAR, U.S. persons include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders) and certain protected individuals, such as refugees, asylees and American Samoans; consult a knowledgeable advisor if unsure.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits including paid time off, medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave and many other perks.
