About Telnyx

Telnyx is an industry leader that's not just imagining the future of global connectivity—we're building it. From architecting and amplifying the reach of a private, global, multi-cloud IP network , to bringing hyperlocal edge technology right to your fingertips through intuitive APIs, we're shaping a new era of seamless interconnection between people, devices, and applications.

We're driven by a desire to transform and modernize what's antiquated, automate the manual, and solve real-world problems through innovative connectivity solutions. As a testament to our success, we're proud to stand as a financially stable and profitable company. Our robust profitability allows us not only to invest in pioneering technologies but also to foster an environment of continuous learning and growth for our team.

Our collective vision is a world where borderless connectivity fuels limitless innovation. By joining us, you can be part of laying the foundations for this interconnected future. We're currently seeking passionate individuals who are excited about the opportunity to contribute to an industry-shaping company while growing their own skills and careers.

Responsibilities

  • When developers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google which voice, messaging, IoT or inference provider to use, the answer comes from sources off our own site: publications, listicles, newsletters, Reddit threads and X posts. Your job is to make sure Telnyx is in those sources, and that it's cited as the answer.
  • You'll own off-page AEO and SEO end to end on the AEO team: links, digital PR, guest content, AI citations, and our Reddit and X engagement program. This is an operator role. You do the work yourself, use AI agents and automation for the busywork, and get measured on what moves: citation share, referral traffic, and the signups and contact-sales leads it drives. You'll report to the Senior Director of AEO.
  • Own off-page end to end. Run link building, digital PR, partnerships, guest contributions and brand mentions as one program that builds lasting authority for telnyx.com, not a string of one-off campaigns.
  • Get Telnyx cited in AI answers. Make Telnyx the source ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews cite when developers ask how to build voice AI agents, run inference, or send email and SMS through an API.
  • Let citation data pick the targets . Use AI citation tracking such as AI Clicks to find the publications, listicles, subreddits and creators AI models cite for our tracked prompts, especially where competitors show up and Telnyx doesn't, then go win those placements.
  • Write and place your own pieces. Take a technical topic from idea to a published guest post, partner article or contributed piece on sites developers actually read.
  • Run digital PR for a developer audience. Pitch Telnyx benchmarks, product launches and data into the publications, newsletters, podcasts and roundups developers rely on, and build lasting relationships with the editors and authors behind them.
  • Turn our work into linkable assets. Partner with Content and DevRel on original research, latency and cost benchmarks, and technical deep-dives that earn links and citations on their own.
  • Run the vendor program with high standards. Manage our link vendors: set monthly targets and anchor plans, enforce quality bars on DR, traffic and relevance, check every placement, and track cost per link.
  • Build systems, not spreadsheets. Set up documented, automated workflows for prospecting, outreach, follow-ups and reporting, using AI agents for the repetitive work so your time goes to relationships and placements.
  • Test what earns citations. Run structured experiments on content format and placement type across third-party sites, and write up what moves citation share so the rest of the team can reuse it.
  • Report weekly and tie it to revenue. Track domains acquired, citation share for our tracked prompts, share of voice, AI referral traffic, and the signups and contact-sales leads those drive.
  • Build and run our Reddit and X engagement program. Use our automated listening to catch high-value threads, questions and competitor mentions as they happen, and jump in fast with genuinely helpful, clearly disclosed replies. Grow the program on purpose: pick the subreddits, accounts and topics worth owning, and improve the alert scoring and reply playbooks so the automation surfaces the right posts.
  • Be the first responder when developers have problems. When someone posts a complaint or a support problem about Telnyx on Reddit or X, acknowledge it quickly, route it to Support or the right product team, and follow up publicly once it's fixed. These threads often become the sources AI answers cite, so a resolved thread protects the brand.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5+ years in off-page SEO, digital PR or link building , ideally at a developer tool, API, cloud or PLG SaaS company.
  • A real off-page operator. You've personally built links, landed placements and run digital PR campaigns, and you can show the domains you won and the traffic they sent. Off-page is your main job, not one of ten things on your resume.
  • Hands-on with AI citations. You already track which sources ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and AI Overviews cite, you've figured out why those sources get picked, and you've gotten a brand cited. If this is all theory to you, this isn't the role.
  • Fluent with developer audiences. You know which publications, newsletters, subreddits, X accounts and dev communities actually matter to engineers, and why a generic SaaS link play falls flat with them.
  • Outreach that gets replies. You write personal pitches, not templates, and you build real relationships with editors, maintainers and newsletter authors.
  • A natural on Reddit and X. You know the norms of each community, reply helpfully with clear disclosure, and can tell a high-value thread from noise quickly.
  • A strong technical writer. You can turn a technical topic like voice AI latency or inference costs into a guest post that's ready to publish.
  • Comfortable owning it solo. There's no agency safety net and no outreach team under you. You do the work, build the systems and report the results.
  • You use AI agents for busywork. You've built automated workflows for prospecting, listening, follow-ups or reporting, and you put your own time into relationships and placements.
  • Data literate. You can work with backlink data in Ahrefs or Semrush, citation data from AI visibility tools, and Search Console, and connect it all to signups and pipeline.
  • Good judgment on link quality. You hold placements to a firm bar on relevance, traffic and authority, you never use link farms or private blog networks (PBNs), and you can manage a vendor relationship on the side without it becoming your job.
  • Bonus points for:
  • Telecom, CPaaS, networking or AI infrastructure experience, so you already know how developers compare voice, messaging, IoT and inference providers.
  • A track record on Reddit or Hacker News, meaning an account history and community standing that show you participate in good faith, not as a marketer.
  • You've built your own listening or outreach automation, using things like AI agents, scripts, the Reddit or X APIs, or Zapier-style workflows.
  • Hands-on with AI visibility tools such as AI Clicks, Profound or Peec, or you've built your own system for tracking which prompts cite which sources.
  • Original research or data journalism that earned coverage or links on its own.
  • Contacts at developer publications, newsletters or podcasts that you can pitch from day one.
  • Some coding ability, like Python or SQL, enough to pull data, script reports or check placements at scale.
  • Experience with review and comparison sites such as G2, Capterra or "best X alternatives" listicles, and with getting a product included in them.
  • Knowing basic technical SEO like canonicals, redirects and indexing, so you can spot when a placement points at the wrong URL.
  • Startup or first-hire experience, where you built a function from scratch with little structure.
