Description

The company was founded in 2022 to build chips and systems that generate model output at thousands of tokens per second while still running very large models on very long contexts.

The company has raised $220M from investors including Founders Fund and Accel.

The Software group builds the complete stack for the company's AI inference systems, from ML compilers, device drivers and firmware to runtimes, ML and compute libraries, developer tools, simulators and datacenter-scale deployment.

PerfSim sits in the Software group. The Simulation team, which decides how the hardware behaves, includes C++ and SystemC specialists, verification and validation engineers, system architects and embedded engineers. High-fidelity pre-silicon models guide architecture, performance and product decisions before any hardware exists.

Responsibilities

  • Build pre-silicon models of the company's AI acceleration hardware.
  • Use those models for architecture exploration and definition.
  • Write functional and performance models, and analyse bottlenecks.
  • Support early software development on virtual platforms.
  • Work alongside hardware, software and ML teams in a hardware-software co-design loop.

Requirements

  • Show real curiosity about hard problems and the depth to reason across architecture, performance and functional correctness.
  • Understand that your models set the accelerator's architecture, drive performance trade-offs, let runtime and compiler work start early, give software teams a working base months before silicon, and reduce risk across the product lifecycle.
  • Bring the rigour that this responsibility demands.
  • Have experience in pre-silicon modelling of complex semiconductor IP.
  • Have worked with SystemC or an equivalent modelling framework.
  • Be skilled in C++ for high-performance simulation.
  • Have done performance modelling and architectural analysis.
  • Have experience in verification and functional modelling.
  • Have experience with ML workloads or ML accelerator architectures.
  • Have prior startup or small-team experience.

Conditions

The work involves technology subject to UK, US and other international export control regulations. Some roles may need extra eligibility checks, and the company will explain this during hiring.

The company is committed to equal employment opportunity and to building a diverse, inclusive team.

Benefits

  • A salary matched to your experience and the specialist nature of the role.
  • Meaningful equity, so everyone shares in the value created.
  • Private medical, dental and vision cover.
  • Contributory pension.
  • 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Life and critical illness insurance.
