ML Engineer – Generative AI & LLMs (Remote)

Description

The team builds ML systems on LLMs and real-world data for clients, from design and prototyping through to production.

You will work with clients and teammates on scalable machine learning solutions. The team is a consulting firm based in Toronto, serving startups and Fortune 500 companies, and is growing quickly.

The team is collaborative and works on open-ended problems. It values clear thinking, practical delivery and ongoing learning. Fast-paced work suits this role.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype and productize scalable machine learning solutions with clients and teammates.
• Work on LLM-based systems built on real-world data.

Requirements

• Expert in LLM engineering, including experience with major LLM providers and their best practices.
• Experience with agentic systems such as tool use, memory, planning or multi-agent coordination is a strong plus.
• Share LLM projects and explain your ownership and contributions.
• Rapidly prototype new tools and research ideas, and turn prototypes into production-ready services.
• Hands-on experience with statistics and machine learning.
• Comfortable with the Python ML stack, including Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost and PyTorch.
• Proficient with Git, Docker, SQL, Bash and FastAPI.
• Strong analytical skills and business sense, with the ability to judge how data affects product or business outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree or higher (MS or PhD welcome) in computer science or a related engineering field involving coding.
