Description

You will join the Metrics Frameworks team as an individual contributor. The team sits in the Simulation, Evaluation, and Data organization and builds and improves the infrastructure that speeds up autonomous vehicle development, testing, and deployment.

The team builds analytics frameworks and tools that let internal users write quantitative analysis pipelines and define metrics. Those metrics guide feature design and prioritization, and they show how recently released features performed. The framework serves road event monitoring, data mining and training, and simulation metrics.

The team works with Simulation Evaluation, Embodied AI, and System and Test Engineering, and builds automation tools and shared libraries for all engineering teams. It owns the performance, reliability, and scalability goals for the analytics framework, including custom analytics workflows, operational telemetry, and KPI dashboards.

The company is working toward safe, high-performing, scalable driverless technology.

Responsibilities

  • Build tooling that takes in signals from sources such as simulation and road data, so users can assemble analysis pipelines and pull out useful findings.
  • Design and build scalable automation for test creation, data collection and analysis, debugging, and performance monitoring, to raise team output.
  • Design and build extensible, well-tested shared libraries for engineers across the organization.
  • Work with framework and data infrastructure teams to ship tools that improve productivity.
  • Work with autonomous vehicle engineers to speed up development and feed model results back quickly.
  • Keep code quality high through architecture work and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Experience building scalable software that many developers will use.
  • Experience writing production Python and C++, including unit testing, code review, and reasoning about algorithm performance and tradeoffs.
  • Experience writing automation scripts in Python and Bash.
  • A BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Competitive edge: experience with SQL and tools such as BigQuery and DuckDB.
  • Competitive edge: experience with time-series analysis and online performance monitoring tools.
  • Competitive edge: experience building high-performance frameworks or infrastructure and optimizing performance in C++ or Python.
  • Competitive edge: familiarity with ROS, Pandas, Python bindings for C++, and plotting or visualization libraries.
  • Competitive edge: familiarity with data orchestration and transformation tools such as AirTable, AirFlow, and DBT.

Conditions

Base salary range is $129,000 to $198,400. The offer will fall within that range based on job-related factors.
