Description

The company has built technology for responsible data use since 2016. Its current governance platform, built for the AI era, combines regulatory intelligence, automation and connected governance workflows so organizations can keep pace with AI while limiting data misuse at scale. Thousands of organizations worldwide already trust it.

As a manager of engineering, you will set the team's strategic goals, hire engineers and decide which projects take priority. You will also stay hands-on, developing new products, defining requirements and delivering work to a high standard.

Your main aim is to lead strategic planning and execution and to build core technology that strengthens the company's long-term proprietary position. You will take new concepts from first design through to market release.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end development, from planning through to release.
  • Set requirements, goals and timelines for software projects and make sure they are delivered on schedule.
  • Monitor the reliability and performance of internal systems and recommend improvements when needed.
  • Make sure development work complies with security regulations.
  • Shape future development strategy around company objectives and available resources.
  • Introduce innovative technologies where they add value.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical direction to your team.
  • Look for ways to improve how the team develops software.
  • Build onboarding and mentoring programs that help engineers grow as individuals and as a team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, with a record of delivering complex, enterprise-class software that has made a material impact in the market.
  • Recent hands-on experience with development, operations and troubleshooting, plus experience managing teams.
  • Understanding of how to work in a DevOps model.
  • Proven critical thinking and advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong consulting skills and a tactful approach to resolving conflict.
  • A systematic approach to problem-solving, with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
  • Experience with system design and architecture, including large, complex distributed systems.
  • Deep knowledge of data structures and programming.
  • Ability to come up with different algorithms for a given problem.
  • Solid understanding of the agile software development lifecycle.

Conditions

For candidates based in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington, the annual base pay range is $143,625 to $215,438 USD.

Where you fall in that range depends on factors including location, job-related skills, experience, and education or training.

The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, equity or commissions, as well as benefits.

The company works office-first, with three days a week in the office for most roles.

Arrangements can vary by role, so confirm your specific setup with your recruiter during the first interview.

Be wary of scams: genuine recruiters never ask for personal, ID or bank details, never interview over instant message or group chat, and never ask you to buy products or services or pay on their behalf.

Benefits

  • Support for your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, both in and out of the office.
  • Comprehensive healthcare, flexible PTO, equity in the form of RSUs, annual performance bonus opportunities, retirement account support, 14+ weeks of paid parental leave, career development, and company-paid privacy certification exam fees.
  • Further benefits that vary by country; ask your recruiter for details.
