Description

The company is growing a team of makers and builders whose goal is to make design available to everyone.

Its platform supports teams from early brainstorming and prototyping through to turning designs into code and working with AI, letting people collaborate in real time from any location.

This role is Engineering Manager for Design Systems Adherence. You will lead the group that builds the workflows, tools and quality feedback loops that help customers produce design and code matching their design system when using the company's agents.

The work covers making guidelines, examples and documentation usable by AI, improving agent architecture, and building datasets, evaluators and benchmarks that measure how closely outputs follow a customer's system. You will set direction for all of it, raise the standard for adherence measurement, and turn evaluation results and customer input into changes that improve design quality.

Design systems matter because they let the agent's output follow a customer's brand, products and design language. The goal includes closing the gap between design and code and reducing drift from the defined system in both.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of 6-8 engineers responsible for design systems adherence across workflows.
  • Coach engineers on career growth, feedback and technical leadership, encouraging ownership and high-quality delivery.
  • Own and develop design system context, turning guidelines, examples, documentation and other guidance into actionable material AI can use to apply a customer's system.
  • Define the technical strategy for measuring adherence, including high-fidelity evaluation datasets, quality rubrics, evaluators and deterministic regression checks that catch problems as the agent changes.
  • Build benchmarks, tools and dashboards so the company and customers can understand adherence, act on results, and track visual quality, latency and cost.
  • Work closely with Product, Design and AI Research to deliver business impact.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading and growing high-impact engineering teams with a record of strong results.
  • Hands-on experience building AI assistants and evaluation systems, and using current large language models and harnesses.
  • Working knowledge of modern AI development and evaluation practice, such as context management, dataset curation, automated evaluators, benchmarking and regression testing.
  • Strong software engineering foundation and a platform mindset, building tools and systems other teams adopt and depend on, plus workflows that solve real customer problems.
  • High standards for customer experience, data quality and reliable measurement, with the ability to set technical direction and align cross-functional partners in complex settings.
  • Not required, but an added plus: solid understanding of design systems, including components, tokens, usage guidelines and how they connect design and code.
  • Not required, but an added plus: a record of building evaluation and customer feedback loops that keep AI products improving.
  • Not required, but an added plus: experience benchmarking AI products on output quality, latency and cost, and turning findings into product priorities.
  • Not required, but an added plus: experience building shared evaluation tools, curated datasets or dashboards that measure quality and prevent regressions.
