The company is a global provider of AI-driven cybersecurity, founded in 2013, and protects nearly 10,000 organisations from unknown threats with its own AI.

Its Active AI Security Platform covers the whole digital estate, from network to cloud to email. The R&D teams have filed over 200 patent applications, and more than 2,400 people work across the company.

As a machine learning researcher, you will work on projects ranging from prototyping new ideas to improving existing ones. You will test and implement research results with software engineers, feeding into the company's cyber defence methods. The company values people who take responsibility for outcomes, act with urgency, speak plainly, and keep pushing standards higher. It also invests in learning and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Explore solutions to open problems across different domains, using language models, neural networks, statistical methods and classical machine learning where they fit.
  • Work both alone and in team collaborations.
  • Build your models into the wider software stack.
  • Optimise models for latency and memory, since they run in many settings, including edge devices.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD or master's degree in machine learning or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Have worked with Python machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or scikit-learn.
  • Have experience across a range of machine learning techniques.
  • Be a team player who can work independently and make your own decisions.
  • Ideally, know Linux and Git.
  • Ideally, understand basic cybersecurity concepts and common threats.
  • Bring a curious, motivated approach, with the ability to apply machine learning to complex real-world problems and explain technical ideas to different stakeholders.

Conditions

This is a hybrid role with compulsory attendance of 2 days a week at the Cambridge office.

Enhanced family leave.

Confidential employee assistance programme.

Cycle to work scheme.

The company is strengthening its governance and controls, and this role helps uphold high standards of integrity and accountability.

Benefits

  • 23 days' holiday plus all public holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years of service.
  • An extra day off on your birthday.
  • Private medical insurance covering you, your cohabiting partner and children.
