Linux Software Development Intern (Hybrid San Antonio, TX)

Description

The company's software delivery environment is being improved, secured and made more resilient, and you will help with that work alongside the engineering team.

The role is hybrid and based in San Antonio, TX.

The company builds products for automotive, aerospace and defense, energy, telecommunications, industrial, robotics and medical markets.

You will work with experienced engineers and get practical exposure to software development, DevOps, AI engineering and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Help build out and mature the pipelines that deliver Linux-based products.
• Help bring AI engineering and development methods into the team's infrastructure and tools.
• Work on projects covering Linux and Elixir development environments.
• Help find, log and follow up on fixes for security vulnerabilities.
• Help improve the security tools and processes that protect the company's products.

Requirements

• You are working toward a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity or a closely related technical field.
• You understand the basics of Linux and software development.
• You know programming fundamentals and general software engineering practices.
• You are interested in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development or cybersecurity.
• You learn fast and work well in a team.
• You are a strong problem solver with good analytical and communication skills.
• You have used Linux development environments through coursework or personal projects.
• You can script or program in languages such as Python, C/C++, Elixir or similar.
• You understand security concepts, vulnerability management or software quality practices.
• Experience with Git, automation tools or cloud-based development environments is a plus.
