Description

The role is Lead Technology Product Manager. You will own the vision and roadmap for the company's Canadian tax products. The role sits between technology and tax, so you work daily with development and tax teams and speak the language of both.

You also talk with accounting firms, in person and online, to learn about their tax season, deadlines and staffing pressure, then turn what you hear into clear requests.

AI matters a lot in this role. It is changing how firms work and shaping our products, and you will help decide where it adds real value for tax professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the tax products through their full lifecycle, from idea to release and post-launch follow-up.
  • Set and update the vision, strategic roadmap and business case for your product portfolio.
  • Meet customers and prospects in person or online to learn their current and future needs, watch how they work, and convert that into clear requests.
  • Set feature priorities with the tax teams.
  • Define requirements, set work priorities and ensure high-quality delivery with the development teams in an agile setting.
  • Identify how AI can save tax professionals time and measure its real value with customers.
  • Keep the experience consistent with the other modules of the wider suite, working alongside the other product managers.
  • Work with go-to-market, marketing, sales, finance and support so each launch and change is ready on the product, operational, sales and customer fronts.
  • Support go-to-market work: launches, product sheets, competitor analysis, sales playbooks and post-launch feedback.
  • Partner with technical support, professional services and customer service so training and post-purchase support needs are met.
  • Track product performance, KPIs and customer feedback, and turn them into concrete improvements.
  • Follow industry trends, competitors and the changing needs of Canadian accounting firms.
  • Be the point of contact for customers and internal teams when a product issue arises.
  • Help with compliance and data-privacy work.
  • Explain technical and tax concepts clearly to people who are neither, and the reverse.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, computer science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years in an accounting firm, software development or product management.
  • Solid grasp of Canadian taxation for individuals, corporations and trusts, and comfort with its terminology.
  • Working knowledge of AI concepts and technologies, applied to real use cases for tax professionals.
  • Understanding of how accounting firms operate, with experience working alongside accounting and tax professionals.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and discussions with customers, from end users to administrators, in person and online.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
  • Fluent in French and English, spoken and written.
  • Asset: experience using tax software.
  • Asset: experience building roadmaps, defining requirements and managing a product lifecycle.
  • Asset: analytical skill in turning data and customer feedback into useful improvements.
  • Asset: ability to influence without direct authority, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Asset: understanding of the data-privacy and security issues specific to the Canadian market.
  • Asset: curiosity, self-motivation and strong organization, with the ability to handle several files on tight deadlines, especially during peak season.
  • Asset: ability to learn new products, technologies and industries quickly.

Conditions

Occasional travel, about 10%, mainly to meet customers.

Interviews must be done without AI tools or outside prompts, and virtual backgrounds must be removed. In-person interviews are part of the process. Using AI-generated answers or third-party help during an interview leads to disqualification.

Applicants may be required to attend an onsite session at a company office as part of recruitment.
