Description

The company builds defense software, including tactical command-and-control products and an integration platform that links its systems to sensors, outside data sources, and other command systems, plus kinetic effector work.

Founded in 2022, the company has raised $1 billion from investors including 8VC, Accel, and Valor Equity Partners. Headquarters are in Los Angeles, with offices in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and London.

You will own two linked product areas: the tactical C2 software and the integration platform. You will help turn unclear mission needs into products that hold up in real deployments. The goal is operator software people find easy to use, and CHAOS systems that are easy to fit into larger, mixed mission architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Set direction, priorities, and delivery for the tactical C2 software and the integration platform.
  • Convert operator workflows, mission needs, and interoperability requirements into product decisions and engineering priorities.
  • Decide which capabilities belong in C2, shared platform services, external sensors, or higher-level C2 systems, and help define the interfaces between them.
  • Work closely with software, systems, hardware, and integration engineers on interface, data flow, latency, failure mode, networking, and deployment tradeoffs.
  • Weigh urgent program-specific integrations against reusable platform features that cut repeated custom work.
  • Build lasting working relationships with engineering, program, operations, and business teams, and become the person others trust for product and mission context.

Requirements

  • Minimum: You do well in technically complex, unclear settings and can take a product from problem definition to delivery without close direction.
  • Minimum: You can work with engineers in depth without being the one who makes the technical calls.
  • Minimum: You think in systems, weighing users, hardware, software, interfaces, dependencies, failure modes, and operational limits.
  • Minimum: You learn unfamiliar domains quickly, earn trust from technical and operational people, and know when to bring in deeper expertise.
  • Minimum: You can tell critical product decisions from distractions and make sound tradeoffs with limited time and information.
  • Minimum: 7+ years of relevant experience, including substantial ownership of complex software products, with roughly 5+ years in product management or an equivalent product ownership role.
  • Minimum: Experience with software that works with hardware, sensors, networks, external systems, or real-world operations.
  • Minimum: Working knowledge of systems engineering practices, including requirements definition and traceability, interface definition, and tradeoff analysis, applied to product decisions.
  • Minimum: Strong written and verbal communication, sound product judgment, and the ability to get alignment without relying on formal authority.
  • Preferred, strongly preferred: Experience in C2, battle management, mission systems, air defense, radar or sensors, autonomy, aerospace, tactical networks, systems integration, or related operational software.
  • Preferred, a plus: Familiarity with mission systems interoperability standards such as Link 16 and TAK/Cursor-on-Target.
  • Preferred, highly valued: Military operational experience, especially in air defense or closely related missions, combined with proven software or product skill.
