Description

The company's Intelligence Division builds advanced analytics and machine learning tools for hard national security problems. Its staff includes engineers and researchers with advanced degrees in engineering, computer science, mathematics, and data science.

The work covers data analysis, deep learning, and statistical methods applied to network, communications, social media, text, time series, geospatial, and imagery data, often under constraints rare in commercial settings. U.S. Government analysts rely on these tools worldwide to pull out and act on intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical delivery for an assigned project or major subsystem, guiding its architecture, build, integration, testing, demonstration, and handover.
  • Lead and mentor software engineers, and work alongside systems engineers, researchers, DevSecOps staff, and mission partners.
  • Turn customer objectives into requirements, architectures, development plans, milestones, performance measures, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead development from requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing sustainment.
  • Break complex work into tasks, and manage dependencies, technical risks, interfaces, and progress.
  • Design and oversee architectures covering services, APIs, data pipelines, databases, ML integrations, user interfaces, and deployment infrastructure.
  • Run design reviews, code reviews, integration, testing, customer demonstrations, and release readiness, keeping systems reliable, secure, maintainable, and fast.
  • Contribute technical content to proposals, customer work, and transition planning so that delivered capabilities can be reused.

Requirements

  • Education: a PhD with 2+ years, an MS with 6+ years, or a BS with 8+ years of relevant experience in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to obtain and keep a Top Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship is needed for this, as required by the U.S. government.
  • Experience leading software development or major workstreams involving applications, services, distributed systems, data platforms, or similar domains.
  • Experience turning customer needs into software requirements, designs, development and test plans, and integrated capabilities.
  • Proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, C++, Java, Go, or similar, with experience building production-quality software.
  • Experience with Git, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, issue tracking, documentation, and secure development practices.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, explain risks and tradeoffs, and work well with customers and mixed-discipline teams.
  • Even Better: Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Even Better: Experience designing system or software architectures for distributed, data-intensive, real-time, cloud, on-premises, or edge systems.
  • Even Better: DevSecOps experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, cloud platforms, monitoring, logging, and security tooling.
  • Even Better: Experience working in large, multi-team codebases using collaborative engineering practices.
  • Even Better: Familiarity with message queues, stream processing, distributed computing, or microservices.
  • Even Better: Experience supporting technical proposals, customer demonstrations, briefings, or capture activities with DoW or IC customers.
  • Even Better: Experience using LLM-enabled development tools such as Cursor or Codex in a secure, effective engineering workflow.
