Lead Python AI Engineer, Agentic Systems

Description

You will design and ship production-grade agentic AI systems for the company's fund transfer pricing and financial hedging platforms, owning them from first design through global deployment.

The work targets automation and better decisions across key financial workflows at a large global financial institution.

The role is senior and sits at the centre of the company's AI work.

Responsibilities

• Build multi-agent systems in which autonomous agents work together on complex business problems across financial platforms.
• Plan and run multi-step agent workflows using knowledge graphs, rule-based reasoning and search methods.
• Develop and tune retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, covering embeddings, vector stores and retrieval, to make generated output more accurate and dependable.
• Design agents that recover from errors, correct themselves and learn from feedback so they keep working reliably in production.
• Combine large language models, predictive models and reasoning frameworks into agent systems that support financial decisions.
• Create APIs, tools and microservices that link AI capabilities to enterprise applications at scale.
• Tune systems for low latency and high throughput, using streaming responses, caching and lower token use to control cost.
• Set the technical direction for AI in the fund transfer pricing and hedging domains by tracking current research and spotting chances to innovate.
• Apply new AI research to real business problems.
• Mentor junior engineers on AI practice and lead technical work across several project teams.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional software development and system design experience, including large-scale production systems.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with hands-on work building production agentic AI solutions using LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar tools.
• Practical experience building multi-agent systems with Google ADK, LangGraph, AutoGen or CrewAI, including planning, reasoning and memory.
• Working knowledge of large language models in agent designs, including building and integrating AI service APIs.
• Advanced prompt and context engineering skills, structuring and compressing information for consistent, high-quality output.
• Experience with vector databases in retrieval and memory architectures.
• Beneficial: experience in financial services, especially fund transfer, pricing, hedging or treasury technology.
• Beneficial: Java as a second language alongside Python.
• Beneficial: a Master's degree in computer science or a closely related field.

Conditions

Full-time role based in Irving, Texas, United States.

Hybrid setup: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Primary salary range is $125,760.00 to $188,640.00.
