The company develops clean, high-temperature nuclear power designed to be deployed quickly, built in a factory, and run in real conditions. Its first pilot plant is in Orangeville, Utah.
The company is young. Before its third anniversary, its team had designed, built, commissioned, and operated a DOE-authorized research reactor outside the national laboratory system.
The Instrumentation & Controls team sits within Engineering. It designs the control architectures that monitor, automate, and protect the company's facilities and reactor technologies, with the aim of safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities
Own the daily OT work plan for the reactor program, including team workload and delivery commitments.
Keep installation, testing, maintenance, and handoffs on track as site readiness and program priorities shift, setting clear expectations and following up calmly.
Oversee OT Engineering work covering power and rack infrastructure, compute, networks, identity, security, operational data, and industrial software platforms.
Manage the FactoryTalk scope, including backend deployment, configuration, integration, and recovery.
Plan and rank reactor OT work against site access, installation readiness, test prerequisites, available resources, and agreed commitments.
Assign work, set expectations, coach team members, give direct feedback, and deal with missed commitments within your delegated authority.
Keep an up-to-date picture of site work, vendor activity, dependencies, and open issues, and revise the plan when conditions change.
Coordinate installation, testing, maintenance, and turnover with engineers and site stakeholders.
Maintain accurate as-built structured cabling drawings for site and reactor network systems.
Clear obstacles, balance competing demands on the team, and escalate constraints before they put committed work at risk.
Secure the required engineering and acceptance decisions, then track agreed work through verified completion and accurate handoff records.
Manage contractors closely, including leading a team made up mostly of contractors for a period.
Take clear ownership of daily commitments and adjust plans promptly when prerequisites or resources change.
Confirm readiness conditions and get engineering direction before affected work goes ahead.
Requirements
Have direct people-management or supervisory experience, covering assignments, expectations, coaching, feedback, and accountability for completion.
Have experience coordinating concurrent technical or operational work that involves specialists, vendors, resources, schedules, and dependencies.
Be able to keep priorities and realistic work plans clear, maintain accurate status and issue records, and follow through reliably under pressure.
Have experience removing delivery obstacles, escalating serious issues, and coordinating handoffs against engineers' requirements and acceptance decisions within delegated authority.
Coordinate site work and handoffs against installation readiness, approved test prerequisites, and engineering acceptance decisions.
Technical specialization is preferred but not required. Nontechnical people managers can qualify, and hands-on engineering work is not expected.
Preferred: experience leading installation, commissioning, maintenance, or test-facility work.
Preferred: experience coordinating work across engineering, construction, operations, and vendors.
Preferred: familiarity with OT infrastructure, controlled work processes, or facility testing.
