Junior/Mid Security Engineer

Description

The role sits in the operations group, alongside a security team of skilled, committed colleagues.

You help decide how the company hosts solutions for critical Danish infrastructure and large international customers.

Day to day, you spot possible improvements, monitor servers and applications, tune detection and response, advise colleagues on alerts and adjust security tools.

Its large-scale projects reach millions of citizens worldwide, and you would work with experienced professionals on them.

Responsibilities

• Study activity patterns and build alerts and dashboards in the SIEM that catch suspicious events.
• Handle and follow up on alerts from the SIEM and EDR tools, tuning them for accuracy.
• Set up links between the SIEM and other systems and environments, including cloud and containers.
• Set up and monitor the IDS and IPS solutions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, electrical engineering or a closely related field.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, IT, systems administration or a similar role.
• Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux.
• Experience with SIEM or EDR solutions.
• Drive to learn quickly, build technical skills and grow in cybersecurity.
• Professional-level English, spoken and written, is required.
• A plus: basic understanding of low-level programming, memory management and computer architecture.
• A plus: familiarity with C and its use in systems programming and security analysis.
• A plus: basic Linux knowledge, including command-line tools, file permissions and system administration.
• A plus: familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation, system administration and security operations.
• A plus: understanding of operating system internals, system architecture, networking basics and troubleshooting.

Conditions

The role follows a hybrid model, with time spent in the office and access to three offices in Athens.
