IT Support Specialist

Description

The company builds rockets, spacecraft and critical subsystems, with goals that include missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

This is an onsite role at the Auckland Production Complex, supporting staff across the company's global teams.

You will help people reach the information they need and keep computer systems, networks and devices running smoothly.

The role suits someone who wants fast career progression, wide exposure to different technologies and a place in a collaborative IT team.

The work often runs to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Give daily IT support by speaking with staff, answering their questions and handling complaints constructively.
• Log and update support desk tickets for incidents, requests, problems, changes and projects, along with related documentation.
• Be the first contact for onboarding new hires so they are set up and productive from day one.
• Take part in continuous improvement, the ongoing work of improving the service, IT systems and processes.

Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of IT support experience and a high school diploma.
• Have some exposure to, and solid hands-on experience in, at least two of the following areas:
• Windows or Linux desktop operating systems, including imaging, maintenance and troubleshooting
• PC hardware, including assembling and disassembling desktop PCs
• Networking infrastructure and basic troubleshooting using TCP/IP and DNS
• Working in a scripting language
• Active Directory and Group Policy
• Show a natural curiosity and a steady drive to keep learning.

Conditions

Work onsite at the Auckland Production Complex.

Shifts may include evenings and weekends, plus on-call rotation as needed.

Occasional domestic travel may be required.
