Description

The company builds memory and storage products for the semiconductor industry.

This internship sits with the data science team, which uses statistics, machine learning and AI to improve how the company's factories perform and how decisions get made.

You will combine statistical analysis, machine learning and AI agents to tackle practical problems in chip manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Use time-series methods, change-point detection, clustering and dimensionality reduction to spot trends and outliers in manufacturing data.
  • Build and test AI agents and LLM workflows: connect analysis tools, write prompts, and measure results against outcomes already known.
  • Pull data with SQL and Python, then clean and merge it to support engineering investigations.
  • Create repeatable analyses, charts, dashboards and reports that engineers can act on.
  • Explain your findings, recommendations and their limits to engineering partners, and help with ongoing improvement work.

Requirements

  • You have 0-2 years of experience gained through classes, research, internships, school projects, hackathons or data competitions.
  • You are working toward a bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, math, computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or a closely related quantitative field, and expect to graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • You can analyze data in Python with libraries such as Pandas and NumPy or similar tools, and you write basic SQL to pull and prepare data.
  • You understand statistics, machine learning basics, hypothesis testing, regression, clustering, PCA and data analysis methods from classes or projects.
  • You have used LLMs, AI agents or generative AI platforms in school, personal or project work, and you have strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
  • All information you submit must be accurate and reflect your real skills and experience.
  • Preferred: experience with time-series analysis, forecasting, anomaly detection, change-point detection or statistical modeling.
  • Preferred: familiarity with LLM agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), Model Context Protocol (MCP), LangGraph, prompt engineering or AI workflow orchestration frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience judging AI model performance, checking outputs, reducing hallucinations, or building AI-assisted applications and workflows.
  • Preferred: skill with machine learning tools such as Scikit-learn, XGBoost, SHAP, SciPy, R, JMP, Plotly or similar platforms.
  • Preferred: experience applying analytics, machine learning or AI to manufacturing, engineering, scientific or other real datasets, with interest in semiconductor manufacturing and industrial analytics.
