Integration Engineer 4 (Oracle DBA) (RAC, DataGuard, GoldenGate) (Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering)

Description

The company is a large financial services firm, and this team is part of its Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering division, which builds and evolves the foundational cloud infrastructure layer covering observability, connectivity, resilience and availability.

The team is looking for Integration Engineers who enjoy working with data and emerging technologies. You will help drive a major transformation across the company.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage mission-critical Oracle Database environments running on Exadata, serving as the subject matter expert for application DBA work.
• Lead maintenance and modernization of database applications, focusing on resiliency, high availability and disaster recovery for business applications and payment processing systems.
• Use Oracle performance and tuning tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Datadog and Oracle ASH/AWR to improve batch and OLTP processing.
• Design, test, implement and support technical solutions within and across Agile teams, using Jira, ServiceNow and Confluence, and write thorough documentation of system configurations.
• Mentor junior team members, keep up with technology trends, and push ongoing improvement of database engineering practices.
• Act as the escalation point for high-severity incidents, risks and vulnerabilities.
• Promote new ideas, adoption of advanced technology and teamwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 4 years designing and maintaining cross-platform or cloud integrations.
• At least 3 years automating system configuration or data workflows.
• Preferred: 6+ years of Oracle Database administration, including enterprise-level DBA leadership.
• Preferred: 6+ years of performance tuning in large-scale OLTP environments.
• Preferred: 6+ years of performance optimization, database architecture and high-volume workloads.
• Preferred: 5+ years with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard.
• Preferred: 4+ years designing and running large-scale backup, recovery, patching and upgrade strategies.
• Preferred: 4+ years working in Agile practices.
• Preferred: 3+ years with Oracle GoldenGate.
• Preferred: 3+ years of security, audit, compliance and risk management expertise, including SOX and PCI.
• Preferred: 1+ years with AWS products and services, AWS RDS and cloud migrations.
• Nice to have: familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, CloudWatch, Splunk and Datadog to keep integrations reliable and performant.

Conditions

Hybrid role. You must follow the company's hybrid policy on required on-site presence at your assigned office.

Base salary for full-time roles: Chicago, IL and Riverwoods, IL, $149,800 to $171,000 for Integration Engineer 4. Pay for other locations follows that location's range, and the exact salary is stated in the offer letter. Part-time pay is prorated to the agreed hours.

Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
