The team has about 30,000 employees worldwide.

This role is the subject matter expert for release and configuration management across integrated Digital Intelligence solutions.

You will set up, keep current and improve the processes, controls and technical baselines that govern software, specifications, interfaces, requirements and deployment artifacts across several constituent systems.

You work independently and lead by influence, partnering with Product Management, Program Management, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Quality, Cybersecurity, DevOps and Field Services so integrated solutions ship with traceability, consistency and operational readiness.

You provide technical leadership on release planning, configuration integrity, audit readiness and lifecycle governance, and drive continuous process improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the running and ongoing improvement of release and configuration management for integrated solutions that span multiple products and systems.
  • Define and maintain configuration identification and baselines for software, requirements, specifications, interfaces, architecture artifacts, test assets, deployment packages and supporting documentation.
  • Keep traceability current across requirements, constituent-system versions, interface revisions, change records, verification evidence and deployed configurations.
  • Run solution-level change control and release readiness, checking technical impacts, dependencies, risks and deployment considerations.
  • Build and coordinate integrated release plans that line up schedules, dependencies, version compatibility and deployment readiness across participating product teams.
  • Control the release and distribution of technical specifications, requirements, interface definitions, architecture documentation, verification artifacts and release records.
  • Work with engineering, quality, cybersecurity and testing teams to confirm release candidates meet technical, quality and compliance requirements.
  • Publish and maintain release manifests, solution Bills of Materials (BOMs), compatibility matrices, configuration records and deployment documentation.
  • Carry out configuration status accounting, audit preparation and configuration verification to confirm released solutions match approved baselines.
  • Support deployment readiness, release authorization, rollback planning, post-release validation and reconciliation of field changes into controlled baselines.
  • Analyze release, deployment and configuration issues, lead root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions that improve release quality and configuration integrity.
  • Coach project teams on configuration management, release management, traceability and lifecycle practices, and push for automation and process standardization.
  • You may be asked to perform duties outside your function or trade, with adequate training provided where needed.
  • Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related technical field.
  • Typically 8+ years of experience in release management, configuration management, systems engineering, DevOps, product lifecycle management or a related technical area.
  • Proven experience managing software and documentation baselines across an engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience coordinating complex, multi-product releases across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management standards such as SAE EIA-649, ISO 10007, IEEE 828 or equivalent frameworks.
  • Experience with requirements and lifecycle tools such as IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (DOORS Next), Polarion, Jama Connect or similar.
  • Experience with source control, build and release tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus or equivalent.
  • Experience with PLM, document control and service management platforms such as Teamcenter, Windchill, SharePoint or ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
  • Proven ability to improve processes, set best practices and lead initiatives with limited guidance.
