Description

The company is a global technology and professional services firm serving U.S. government, defense and intelligence agencies, with about 26,000 staff in more than 50 countries.

This Regular, onsite role sits in IT Infrastructure and Operations under the company's User Facing and Data Center Services contract. You will run the health, administration and performance of a dedicated customer compute cluster from end to end.

The aim is a reliable, secure and well-tuned hardware base that the technology integration and performance engineering teams can use to run demanding customer workloads.

Clearance: you must currently hold TS/SCI and be able to obtain TS SCI with polygraph. No public trust is required.

Responsibilities

  • Handle daily upkeep of the cluster, covering Linux administration, hardware monitoring, patching and upgrades.
  • Set up, maintain and tune the workload manager and orchestration stack, including Run:AI scheduling, so AI and ML jobs spread efficiently across the cluster.
  • Tune hardware, operating system and network layers to get the most compute and data throughput for customer workloads.
  • Administer storage and high-speed networking. Help move to, then run, an InfiniBand GPU-to-GPU fabric that keeps latency low for distributed work.
  • Work with integration teams to build environments, dependencies and container platforms, including Red Hat OpenShift, so customer models deploy cleanly.
  • Keep every component compliant with federal security standards, enforce strict access controls and maintain system accreditations.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
  • 5+ years of Linux systems administration and infrastructure management, with a focus on high-performance computing.
  • Experience running bare-metal servers, enterprise storage arrays and advanced networking, including InfiniBand.
  • Working knowledge of workload managers, job schedulers and AI orchestration tools such as Run:AI and SLURM.
  • Hands-on work with OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Scripting in Bash or Python to automate cluster maintenance.
  • Proven skill diagnosing and fixing complex hardware, network and OS problems.
  • Cluster administration, infrastructure optimization and SAN management experience.
  • Preferred: experience with parallel file systems and high-throughput storage.
  • Preferred: experience engineering or managing high-speed GPU-to-GPU communication topologies.
  • No certifications are required. U.S. citizenship is required.

Conditions

Onsite in Springfield, VA, 40 hours a week, with no travel required.

The likely salary is $119,850 to $162,150. This is not a guaranteed figure. Pay depends on experience, location and possibly contract terms, and may fall outside this range.

Hiring includes biometric identity verification, and you must be on camera for virtual interviews.

The company welcomes applicants of all backgrounds, including people with disabilities and protected veterans.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with company match, letting you contribute pre-tax or post-tax dollars up to IRS limits.
  • Medical plans, some with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental, vision, and wellness packages.
  • Paid vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave.
  • Full flex work weeks where possible.
  • Short and long-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness and business travel accident insurance, provided or available.
  • Paid education and certifications, an internal mobility team, and hands-on work with cutting-edge technology.
