Description

The company makes finance for small and medium businesses, which often need money quickly and need it to fit how they run.

It combines smart technology, data science and strong customer service so owners can act when it counts.

So far it has supported 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding.

This is a Growth Product Manager role focused on customer acquisition in Germany.

You will shape the models that choose which German businesses the company reaches, and the path those businesses take from a first click to a submitted loan application. The team is new: a data scientist is in place and engineers are being hired alongside. It suits someone who reasons from first principles and would rather test an idea than debate it.

The DE Acquisition Tech team builds the systems that bring German businesses in and let them apply: models that pick who to contact, eligibility checks that show early whether the company can help, and the signup flow.

Product, analytics, data science and engineering share one squad, so changes can go from idea to live without waiting on other groups.

German marketing and sales rely on this work. The models set who they contact, and the journeys set how many of those contacts convert.

The team is still forming. A data scientist is already on board and engineers are being recruited, so you would help shape how it works from an early stage.

Responsibilities

  • You sit between the German commercial teams (marketing, sales and commercial strategy) and the technical squad. You report to the Head of Direct Acquisition and answer for acquisition and activation results in Germany, from finding opportunities and forming hypotheses to building, testing and refining with engineering, data, marketing and sales.
  • The remit is wide across product, analytics, UX and data science. You do not need deep expertise in each, but you should be curious and good at asking sharp questions.
  • Own the funnel from first visit to submitted application, including the signup flow and the eligibility checks within it.
  • Set the roadmap for acquisition and signup, and decide what the squad builds next.
  • Own the scoring and segmentation that determine where marketing spend goes and which leads sales calls first.
  • Work with the data scientist and the engineers being hired to ship lead scoring, eligibility checkers and signup flows.
  • With marketing and sales, improve website content, signup flows and decision logic so more of the businesses already arriving apply.
  • Cut friction from signup so a funding application takes minutes, not an afternoon.
  • Act as the technical contact for German marketing, sales and channel management on attribution, tracking and pipeline issues.
  • Investigate and fix data problems such as broken dashboards, misattributed traffic and unexplained volume shifts, often at short notice.
  • Explain the attribution logic behind each channel manager's numbers and advise them on it.
  • Keep tracking and attribution reliable so the team trusts the numbers that downstream decisions depend on.
  • Design, run and read A/B tests on messaging, targeting, eligibility checks and signup flows, and decide what ships.
  • Find opportunities from first principles, using data, customer research and funnel analysis.
  • Direct the squad day to day: brief the data scientist and engineers, set priorities, and turn their models into products.
  • Define priorities, roles and team rituals for a group still being built.
  • Lead cross-functional work with marketing and sales, agreeing shared goals, hypotheses and success metrics with engineering and data.
  • Translate the commercial strategy team's goals into testable hypotheses and briefs the squad can act on.

Requirements

  • Essential: experience as a product manager, growth product manager, or in a role owning product-led growth results.
  • Essential: strong analytical skills and hands-on work with experimentation frameworks and A/B testing tools.
  • Essential: hands-on experience with tracking and attribution, such as Amplitude, GA4, GTM, server-side tagging, or sending conversion data back to ad platforms.
  • Essential: able to act as the product voice on modelling, challenging assumptions and turning model output into decisions, without building the models yourself.
  • Essential: strong skill with AI tools, including structured prompting and repeated AI interaction to solve problems and work faster.
  • Bonus: experience in fintech, lending, B2B SaaS or regulated products.
  • Bonus: experience working with data science teams or on modelling projects.
  • Bonus: fluent German and strong written communication for customer-facing work.
  • Bonus: knowledge of the German SME market or B2B financial products.
  • Bonus: experience working in or building newly formed teams.
