Description

The company designs advanced semiconductors and data center hardware for AI computing, aiming for processing power that is specialised for AI and efficient enough for wide use. It is part of SoftBank Group, and its new AI Engineering Campus in Austin will be central to its AI computing work.

This is a graduate engineering role focused on validating server blades and racks for next-generation AI infrastructure. The work is post-silicon validation across the full server lifecycle, checking that functionality and performance meet product goals. You will take part in end-to-end blade and rack validation, covering development, execution and debug, and work with silicon, firmware, systems and platform teams.

The Blade and Rack Validation team makes sure systems are ready and of good quality at scale. The team works across firmware, silicon and system engineering to validate complex AI compute platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan, build and automate test cases for post-silicon validation of AI compute blades and racks.
  • Help run validation tests and debug systems against program milestones, and report progress and risks on validation.
  • Set up and integrate system components, including SoC firmware, BMC, RMC and OS, so racks are ready.
  • Sort test failures, gather debug data and help with root cause analysis.
  • Monitor validation coverage and keep improving test processes and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field, with graduation in sight.
  • Eagerness to learn and build experience in large-scale server or AI infrastructure hardware validation.
  • Some exposure to hardware validation or debug on x86 or ARM server, rack or embedded systems.
  • Understanding of CPU, GPU, memory, IO and BIOS testing.
  • Experience with Linux or server operating systems, and automation in Python or Bash.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and large-scale test automation infrastructure.
  • Experience working in lab environments.
  • Preferred: knowledge of BMC, IPMI and Redfish concepts.
  • Preferred: familiarity with OpenBMC and how firmware functionality is verified.
  • Preferred: experience with test and asset management tools.
  • The preferred qualifications are helpful but not mandatory, so apply even if you do not meet all of them.

Conditions

Intern benefits and eligibility depend on work location, internship length, scheduled hours, employment status and plan terms, and the overview is not a contract or guarantee.

  • Paid company holidays and other paid time away, where applicable.
