GPS Engineer

The company makes materials science and engineering equipment and services that underpin nearly every new semiconductor chip and advanced display worldwide.

Its equipment and service work supports AI and speeds the commercial launch of next-generation chips.

Responsibilities

• Write new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) for newly launched products, and contribute to the FMECA process.
• Take part in, or lead, the first Build & Test in the Apps lab, resolving issues yourself or with Engineering.
• Work with Manufacturing on procedures and, where needed, on final testing for new products.
• With the Quality & Reliability (Q&R) group, review top field issues, own or join the CAPA process, and run or support Failure Analysis (FA) when required.
• Write installation (start-up), retrofit and maintenance procedures in the Technical Product Manuals.
• Draft new procedures, Customer Engineering Notices (CENs), Internal Service Bulletins (ISBs) and troubleshooting guides as needed.
• Gather process and qualification data to build product BKMs.
• Create the first training package for new products with Global Technical Training (GTT), and train Customer Engineers (CEs), Process Engineers (PSEs) and Technical Product Support (TPS) staff before ELS shipments go to customers.
• Identify new parts that need stocking at AGS and make sure they sit in the correct locations.

• Help less experienced colleagues and lead small projects with manageable risk and resources.
• Solve complex problems from a fresh angle and make sound judgments using several sources of information.
• Influence customer, operational, project or service work within your team and related teams, within broad guidelines and policies.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information clearly and help teams reach agreement.

Conditions

Full-time, regular assignee role.

Travel: about 20% of the time.

Relocation eligible.

Location: Santa Clara, CA.

Pay range: $124,000.00 - $171,000.00.

For sales roles, the posted range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range: base salary plus target bonus at 100% goal achievement.
