Full-stack Engineer 4

Description

You will join a team building agentic identity solutions in a fast-moving AI security group, working closely with experienced identity and access management specialists.

The company is hiring full-stack software engineers who enjoy building things and stay current with open source frameworks and emerging technologies.

The role sits at the center of a major transformation across the company.

Responsibilities

• Lead a set of varied technology projects and a team of developers who build distributed microservices and full-stack systems that address the company's regulatory needs.
• Keep up with technology trends, test and learn new tools, take part in internal and external engineering communities, and mentor other engineers.
• Work with digital product managers to deliver resilient cloud-based solutions that help millions of Americans gain financial empowerment.
• Work across Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, open source relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes and a range of AWS services.
• Set technical direction for Agile teams, establishing standards for design, development and operational excellence.
• Work with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns and reusable frameworks.
• Spot areas to improve and carry out targeted refactoring that reduces technical debt and boosts system performance.
• Shape long-term technology strategy by assessing new tools and practices, in an environment where teams build and run what they create.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field such as statistics, economics, operations research, analytics, mathematics or engineering.
• At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internships do not count.
• At least 2 years working with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud-based productivity tools or virtualization technologies.
• Preferred: master's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Preferred: 7+ years coding in at least three of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C and Scala.
• Preferred: 3+ years working with databases and database management systems.
• Preferred: 3+ years with AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud-based productivity tools or virtualization technologies.
• Preferred: 4+ years contributing to open source frameworks.
• Preferred: 3+ years with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
• Preferred: 4+ years creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
• Preferred: 3+ years with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and automated testing frameworks.
• Preferred: 3+ years using Git-based version control such as Git, GitHub or Bitbucket.
• Preferred: 3+ years troubleshooting technical issues in cloud environments.
• Preferred: experience with modern AI-based coding tools and IDE copilots.
• Preferred: 1+ year mentoring engineers and supporting their professional growth.
• Preferred: 1+ year using observability to find and remove performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
• Preferred: experience with interactive AI tools that boost productivity beyond basic code completion.
• Preferred: experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts or large-scale technical initiatives.
• Preferred: experience setting and enforcing coding standards and design patterns across teams.

Conditions

Full-time annual base salary: McLean, VA $197,300 to $225,100; Plano, TX $179,400 to $204,700. Part-time pay is prorated to the agreed regular hours.

Candidates hired in other locations receive the pay range for that location, and the exact salary is stated in the offer letter.
