Description

The company sells cybersecurity built for software that AI coding agents now write. Those agents ship code faster than human teams can review or secure it, with 100+ pull requests weekly from each engineer, and attackers use the same agents to find and exploit weaknesses within days. Quarterly pentests and long alert queues cannot keep up with that pace.

The company runs a fleet of AI security agents. They reason over a live graph of a customer's production system, covering code, CI, cloud and telemetry, and continuously attack a faithful copy of it the way a real adversary would. Each finding comes validated, with its blast radius and a remediation plan delivered into the customer's workflow so a coding agent can fix it. Integration takes hours, and the first validated finding arrives within days.

The founders previously built Sqreen, which Datadog acquired, and led security products that thousands of organizations trusted. The company is backed by Accel and Y Combinator and is early in its growth.

Responsibilities

  • As the first Solutions Engineer, you are the technical lead in every customer conversation. You show through hands-on work that the product does what the company claims, and you work with the founders and sales to win over skeptical security and engineering leaders.
  • This is an early role with a lot of ownership. There is no finished playbook yet, so you will help build it. A typical day might include summarizing findings from a proof-of-value in a customer's cloud, walking a security engineer through blast-radius evidence, scripting a CISO-level demo against the production graph, and logging a feature gap that could decide the next deal. You will cover digital-native enterprises with large, sprawling estates and AI-native companies shipping at agent speed.
  • Run technical discovery to find a customer's real exposure, including how quickly they ship, where their review process fails, and what a breach would cost.
  • Build and deliver demos tailored to each customer, showing how the product reasons over their production graph and surfaces risk and remediation plans their current processes miss.
  • Take full ownership of proofs-of-value: identify the pains, agree success criteria, and drive to first validated findings and a clear technical win.
  • Act as the trusted technical advisor to the whole buying group, explaining deep technical detail to security engineers, VP Engineering, and the CISO or CIO.
  • Write clear, convincing answers to security questionnaires and RFPs, covering data handling, deployment model and pentest evidence.
  • Work with the company's security leads to schedule and run agent-assisted pentesting campaigns for proofs-of-value and customers.
  • Feed field insights back to product and engineering to shape what gets built next.
  • Create proof-of-value playbooks and reusable assets that help every account executive and future Solutions Engineer move faster.

Requirements

  • You run technical conversations from start to finish with customers, including discovery, tailored demos, and driving a proof-of-value to a technical win.
  • You explain complex technical detail in terms of business value for both engineers and executives.
  • You work hands-on across AWS, GCP or Azure, CI/CD, code and the terminal, and you learn unfamiliar stacks quickly.
  • You build with AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor every day, using them to prototype demos, integrations and proof-of-value environments quickly.
  • You think like an attacker and understand how real systems fail and connect, not only how they are built.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy working out how something should work, rather than only following an existing process.
  • You have hands-on offensive security experience through penetration testing, red teaming or bug bounty work. OSCP, OSEP or CRTO are a strong signal, and Security+, CISSP or CEH are welcome. None of these certifications are required.
  • You have sold to, or worked alongside, security and engineering teams at enterprises or AI-native companies.
  • You are familiar with application and cloud security tools such as SAST, SCA, DAST and SIEM, and with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI and ISO 27001.
  • You have startup, forward-deployed or solutions architecture experience.
  • You have built a solutions engineering or solutions architecture function from scratch.

On-target earnings are 170,000 to 280,000, depending on level and experience, split roughly 70% base and 30% variable.

The role is based in San Francisco, and the team works in person where it can. Exceptional remote candidates are considered if they work mainly on Pacific hours and travel for customers and the team.
