At Dot (https://www.getdot.ai/) we help organizations like Airbyte, Babbel, Duolingo, Fastly, Flix or GLS to analyze data with an AI assistant. Data teams train Dot on their company data, and everyone else asks it questions in Slack, Teams or the browser.
Why this role exists
The product works: one of our customers is moving its users from Tableau to Dot. Our problem is that the right people don't know Dot exists yet. We tried an agency for outbound and it didn't work well enough, so we're bringing go-to-market in-house and want a builder to own it.
This is not a sales job with a script and a quota, and not a marketing job that ends at leads. It's an engineering job whose product is our growth.
Ex-founders only
You have started a company before. It doesn't need to have been big or lasted long, but it has to have been real: you shipped something, and people used it or paid for it. Numbers (users, revenue) and the honest story of what worked and why it ended count for a lot. "Co-founder" on a profile with no product behind it doesn't.
Why founders: you've done every job at once, you own outcomes without being asked, and you pick channels by what fits the buyer, not by what worked at your last job.
In this role, you will
Find our channel: run fast experiments across outbound (LinkedIn, email), content and SEO, review sites like G2, communities and partners. Kill what doesn't work, double down on what does
Build the machine: AI agents that source and prioritize accounts, find contacts and buying signals, write personal outreach that doesn't read like AI slop, and prepare calls
Own the stack: pick the tools, wire them together, drop the ones that don't earn their place. We work in Claude Code and Codex all day, and so will you
Turn our blog into an engine: it already brings traffic, and Dot itself can find the stories in the data
Fix the funnel: campaigns only convert if onboarding does. Find where sign-ups drop off and ship or push the fix
Measure everything (with Dot, of course)
What success looks like
In six months we have one channel that reliably brings new customers, for example LinkedIn bringing 10-30 new customers a month, and you're scaling it.
You may be a fit if you
Founded or co-founded a real company (see above)
Have a technical background, ideally software engineering, and think in systems
Enjoy optimizing funnels and building automations and AI agents to do it
Have done some sales, marketing or growth before, the more creative the better
Are hungry, and your trajectory shows you learn fast and worked your way up
Work well on your own: remote, async, no playbook handed to you
Write clear English
Bonus, not required: experience with data or analytics
$3,000-4,500 USD per month in total: a fixed base plus a monthly profit-share bonus that grows with the business you help build
0.5-1% equity
That pay goes a long way in many places and not far in others. If you live in SF, London or Zurich, this role probably isn't for you.
The Dot team is inclusive and diverse. People from all walks of life are encouraged to apply.
You'll join a small, nimble team (five other people) and work directly with fellow ex-founders.
Fully remote
No visa sponsorship
Worth a look before you spend an evening tailoring a CV for it.
