Description

The company builds software that helps organisations make decisions from their data. Its platforms support partners in developing life-saving drugs, forecasting supply chain disruptions and locating missing children.

This role supports the company's US Government work, but it is based in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to pin down their most pressing problems, then design and build data-driven solutions. Projects often begin with broad questions such as why so many flights are being delayed or how to spot money laundering more reliably.
  • Own projects from start to finish in small teams with little supervision. Your work can cover architecture discussions, handling very large datasets, building custom web apps, meeting customer executives and shaping team strategy.
  • Solve problems on critical operations for organisations in major industries, and learn new technologies and languages, or build new ones yourself.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product teams and Deployment Strategists, and meet customers on site when needed.
  • Make independent decisions, follow projects through obstacles, and share what you learn with the team.

Requirements

  • Hold an active US security clearance at Secret level or higher.
  • Have a strong engineering background, preferably in computer science, mathematics, software engineering or physics.
  • Have experience in logistics, materiel, sustainment, aviation or readiness analysis (a plus).
  • Be familiar with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks and other technical tools.
  • Understand how technical decisions affect the people who use what you build.
  • Be a skilled programmer in languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript or similar.
  • Collaborate well in teams with both technical and non-technical members, and adapt to fast-changing goals and frequent user feedback.
  • Learn continuously, work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Be willing to travel as needed.

Conditions

The estimated base salary is $135,000 to $200,000 per year. Total compensation may also include Restricted Stock Units, a sign-on bonus and other future incentives, and depends on each person's qualifications, experience, skills and other factors. The estimate excludes any sign-on bonus, the value of benefits and the future value of long-term incentives.

Teams generally work from the office, and many offer hybrid arrangements of one or two days working from home per week. Some roles allow remote work on an exceptional basis, and if so, you must work from the state where you are employed. Roles marked as onsite require office work.

Offerings may vary by region. The company provides equal opportunity to all applicants.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance, plus voluntary life insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Basic life, AD&D and disability insurance included automatically for employees.
  • Commuter benefits and a 401k plan.
  • Flexible paid time off with no accrual, plus 2 weeks of paid time off at the end of each year (subject to team and business needs) and 10 paid holidays per year.
  • Leave of absence programme covering military service and medical events.
  • Paid leave for new parents, subsidised back-up care for all parents, fertility and family building support (including adoption, surrogacy and preservation), and a stipend for costs of a new child.
  • Support with home and host tax returns and tax equalisation.
  • If hired to deploy to Japan under a SOFA, eligible for the standard new hire relocation benefit when moving more than 50 miles for the job.
