The company runs and redesigns mission-critical technology systems for major businesses around the world.
This Band 8 Forward Deployed Engineer role focuses on AI and agentic engineering, working as part of a team alongside platform engineers.
Responsibilities
Own delivery of AI applications on complex customer projects, including agentic systems and generative AI features that move into production alongside platform engineers.
Turn business problems into technical designs, then build and refine AI applications.
Stay accountable for how your work holds up once people use it every day.
Work with significant independence, applying deep knowledge of agentic AI architecture and software engineering to balance rigour with business value.
Use current AI development tools and sound engineering practice across the whole delivery cycle.
Expect to draw on different duties per project, since not every item applies to each one.
Turn business problems into agentic AI and generative AI use cases.
Build agentic workflows and their frameworks, RAG pipelines, and LLM API integrations.
Convert unstructured data into compact structured knowledge, including ontology extraction.
Write production Python services in FastAPI, covering design, testing, code review, and CI/CD.
Model and serve data for AI applications in relational and graph databases such as Postgres and Neo4j.
Work with platform engineering on hosting and MLOps/LLMOps without owning that infrastructure yourself.
Set AI governance and responsible-use guardrails, including data privacy limits and policy enforcement with OPA/Rego.
Add observability to AI applications using OpenTelemetry and Prometheus.
Guide clients through legacy modernisation into AI-enabled workflows, fixing performance and reliability issues along the way.
Record deployment lessons and share best practice to shape core AI platform frameworks.
Contribute code, reusable agentic patterns, and feedback to core platform teams.
