Description

The company runs and modernises mission-critical technology systems for leading global businesses, pairing proven expertise with AI-driven insight.

This is a Band 8 Forward Deployed Engineer role with a platform engineering focus. You will work on cloud platform and infrastructure modernisation, including the foundations that generative AI and agentic systems run on, alongside the AI engineers on the team.

You will work with significant autonomy and deliver measurable impact. Not every item below applies to every project, so your mix of work will depend on the engagement.

You will start on meaningful projects from your first day, working on systems that customers rely on daily.

Responsibilities

  • Turn client business problems into target-state cloud designs across Azure, GCP and AWS, then lead the design and deployment.
  • Own delivery from start to finish, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Helm.
  • Build enterprise Kubernetes container platforms with GitOps delivery through ArgoCD.
  • Build self-service developer environments and secure landing zones.
  • Build platforms that host generative AI systems, covering LLM hosting, LLM gateways and agentic workflows.
  • Lead legacy application modernisation, microservices migration and API integration.
  • Build security into the whole platform: tooling in CI/CD pipelines, namespace segmentation and managed identities in Kubernetes, and secure access in landing zones and the hyperscaler.
  • Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles, DNS zones and secure network access to endpoints.
  • Set architecture standards and guardrails with security at the centre, including policy-as-code with OPA, access controls, secrets management and compliance-driven engineering.
  • Add observability with Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
  • Record deployment lessons and share best practice to improve core platform frameworks.
  • Contribute code, automated blueprints and feedback to core platform teams.

Requirements

  • You do not need to meet every item to apply.
  • 5+ years of hands-on solution and platform architecture work, delivering client-facing infrastructure modernisation.
  • Hands-on work with Azure, GCP and/or AWS, including landing zones, networking, IAM and cost controls.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes, ArgoCD GitOps delivery, Terraform and Helm.
  • Hands-on security across the platform: CI/CD security tooling, Kubernetes namespace segmentation and managed identities, and secure access in landing zones and the hyperscaler.
  • Hands-on SSL/TLS certificate management, DNS zone administration and secure network access to endpoints.
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git and GitHub, and microservices and API architectures.
  • Practical experience with Grafana, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
  • Working knowledge of generative AI platforms, including LLM hosting, LLM gateways (for example LiteLLM, Portkey, Kong AI Gateway), and MLOps or LLMOps for deploying and monitoring AI in production.
  • Preferred: familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel) and their production deployment.
  • Preferred: understanding of LLM governance, including data privacy, guardrails and responsible-use controls.
  • Preferred: experience guiding clients through legacy modernisation, containerisation and microservices re-platforming.
  • Preferred: experience defining platform guardrails and risk frameworks that balance delivery speed with governance.
  • Preferred: T-shaped profile, with solid platform engineering and cloud architecture skills and broad understanding of enterprise IT and technical consulting.
  • Preferred: ability to act as a trusted advisor, turning business needs into technical roadmaps for varied stakeholders.
  • Preferred: willingness to travel and work on customer premises as required.
  • Preferred: degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
