Feedyard Software Support

Description

The role supports veterinary and livestock production solutions sold through the MWI Animal Health business, a global animal health brand within the company.

Shift runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Travel of up to 50% is expected.

Responsibilities

• Study how each customer runs its operations so you can set goals, configure the assigned MICRO Technology system, and write programs, specifications and procedures that reach those goals efficiently.
• Explain system requirements, animal health needs and client outcomes clearly to clients and their veterinarians, both in writing and out loud.
• Plan schedules and complete all work orders needed to prepare the MICRO Technology system for installation, including hardware specifications that the Field Hardware IT team installs.
• Handle system configuration, data loading, quality assurance, and testing of historical data, and train new and existing clients on the system.
• Train clients on product inventory management and FDA compliance guidelines.
• Install the specified software packages, such as operating systems, database engines and word processors, on client computers.
• Write and share clear operating procedures for the MICRO Technology system.
• Gather client requirements, design tailored solutions, and write business requirement documents for the Business Analyst or Software Development Team. Test prototypes when needed and final software or features to confirm they meet client needs. Update client software and train the client on the changes.
• Set up remote access connections.
• Report ongoing reviews of the technology system and hardware to other Micro teams so software and equipment can keep improving.
• Track system performance for all users, share findings, and advise clients on process changes that keep pace with their evolving goals.
• Spot potential software and process problems and work with development teams on fixes.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or 2 years of college, preferably in Animal Science, Feedlot Management, Nutrition, or a related major.
• 2 to 3 years of experience working in a feed yard, mainly in feed management.
• Working knowledge of PCs, operating systems, databases, software engines and related software.
• General knowledge of cattle and agricultural processes.
• A valid driver's license and frequent travel within the United States.
• Overnight travel 50% of the time.
