Description

About Alma

At Alma, we believe sustainable commerce depends on fair, well-balanced trade. Because finance plays a pivotal role in business, our mission is to put it back in its rightful place: serving merchants and consumers.

Our installment and deferred payment solutions help merchants boost sales by 20% or more, increase customer loyalty, and deliver a seamless shopping experience, without encouraging bad debt.

As the buy now pay later leader in France and active in 10 European countries, we've empowered over 25,000 merchants and 10 million consumers.

With 380+ Almakers and €100M+ ARR, Alma is scaling rapidly across Europe as a member of the Next40, and we're just getting started!

You will join the Growth team and work closely with Revenue Operations, Account Managers, Business Analysts, Marketing, Data, and merchant technical teams. You will help Alma apply to its own website the experimentation and measurement expertise we bring to merchants.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Paris, with a hybrid working model. Professional French and English are required.

As an Experimentation & Tracking Engineer, you will own web experimentation at Alma: the A/B tests we run on merchant websites, the measurement of what happens on our own website, and its continued development following our recent redesign.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead merchant experimentation from opportunity to readout

Qualify testing opportunities against technical and volume eligibility criteria, then design each test with the merchant: scenario, traffic split, pages, events, KPIs, duration, and stopping rule.

Implement variations and event tracking in Kameleoon, run the live phase, check data quality, and present the first results to the merchant alongside the Account Manager and Business Analysts.

Own web tracking and measurement quality

Define and maintain the tracking plan for Alma's website across 8 markets, implementing it through GTM, GA4, or equivalent tools.

Ensure reliable data flows into Salesforce, BigQuery, and Looker, while owning consent and GDPR compliance, deduplication, attribution, and reconciliation across sources.

Build and optimize almapay.com

Build and evolve landing pages, product pages, market pages, and local content following the website redesign.

Run a CRO programme on Alma's own funnels, starting with the demo request, while maintaining performance, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and hreflang across markets.

Scale the experimentation practice

Turn the existing framework, documentation, and tooling into a repeatable practice, with a target of 8 merchant tests going live over the year.

Share standards, learnings, and results with Growth, Revenue Operations, Data, Marketing, Sales, and Product stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Kameleoon · GTM / GA4 · JavaScript · Salesforce · BigQuery · Looker & Looker Studio · n8n · Notion · Slack · GitHub · Axeptio · Rudderstack · Vercel · Metabase · Cloudflare

Requirements

  • To succeed in this job
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience in experimentation, web analytics, CRO, or measurement-oriented web development.
  • You have hands-on experience with GTM and GA4, or equivalent tools, including consent mode, data quality, and debugging issues that can fail silently.
  • You are self-sufficient in JavaScript and HTML/CSS, including DOM manipulation, variation building, and debugging on websites you did not build and cannot fully control.
  • You understand the fundamentals of test validity, including sample size, stopping rules, and what makes an experiment result trustworthy. You are also comfortable working with clients and technical stakeholders in French and English.
  • And it will be nice if you also
  • Have an e-commerce or payments background, with familiarity with checkout journeys.
  • Can use SQL to pull and investigate your own data.
  • Have worked with Kameleoon, Optimizely, AB Tasty, VWO, or a similar experimentation platform.
  • Spanish, Italian or German — our European footprint is still being built.
  • Experimented with approaches to manage the impact of LLMs on traffic and conversion
  • Don't meet every single requirement? At Alma, we believe great hires come from diverse paths. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply. We value potential, curiosity, and the ability to grow as much as experience.
