Description

You will join a program focused on architecture and change within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), working directly with senior technology and business leaders.

The role is hands-on. You will analyse complex environments, question current approaches, build target-state options and turn decisions into concrete recommendations.

The company is an international consulting group that delivers innovation and business transformation through technology. It has over 7,200 consultants in 21 countries, a turnover of €850M, and has operated for the past 22 years. It is headquartered in Paris and is on track to reach €1 billion in revenue this year.

Its core areas are data and technologies, cloud and application services covering platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft, AWS and IBM Maximo, and management and innovation consulting. Its clients come from transport and logistics, financial services, energy and utilities, retail, and media and telecommunications.

Responsibilities

  • Define decision-ready reference and target architectures for priority CIB capabilities, covering capability breakdown, target building blocks, architecture principles, data and integration patterns, and transition considerations.
  • Challenge existing architectures, inherited constraints, local variations and investment assumptions with CIOs, Domain Technology Heads and senior business stakeholders.
  • Review current application and platform landscapes to find duplication, fragmentation, obsolescence, dependencies, risks and consolidation opportunities.
  • Turn architecture decisions into application-level recommendations such as adopt, consolidate, migrate, selectively invest, contain or retire, including dependencies and transition sequencing.
  • Compare buy, build and reuse options by looking at market maturity, adoption among comparable CIB firms, integration fit, vendor lock-in and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Prepare and lead architecture decision forums and domain working groups, presenting options, trade-offs, recommendations, required decisions and open dependencies.
  • Assess end user computing (EUC) and AI-enabled local solutions against the target architecture, and define their classification, controls, ownership and transition paths.
  • Turn architecture decisions into initiatives that can be funded, contributing to preliminary business cases, expected benefits, complexity assessments, risks and investment planning.
  • Work with global and cross-domain teams so that architecture strategy and business transformation goals stay aligned.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in technology architecture, enterprise architecture or technology transformation.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in CIB or Wholesale Banking. Experience in this sector is mandatory.
  • Proven experience defining reference architectures, target architectures and/or transition states in complex technology environments.
  • Experience in at least one of the following: application landscape rationalisation, platform consolidation, or technology modernisation.
  • Solid understanding of current-to-target assessments and their impact on applications, data, integration, cloud, resilience and cybersecurity.
  • Ability to engage senior technology and business stakeholders, challenge existing approaches constructively and communicate architecture recommendations clearly.
  • English at minimum B2 level, ideally C1, with professional fluency in written and spoken English. You will prepare and present recommendations, lead meetings and work with global stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of a major CIB domain or a transversal technology platform.
  • Experience leading global or cross-domain transformation initiatives.
  • Experience assessing buy, build and reuse options, market solutions and TCO.
  • Experience working with large application portfolios and producing decision-ready architecture materials.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification in Finance, Technology Management or a related field.
