Description

The company builds an AI-native workspace that helps legal professionals work faster and more precisely, including analysing thousands of documents in minutes and running end-to-end workflows.

It is built with lawyers rather than for them, and works with leading legal teams across Europe, North America and APAC.

The company has 2,100+ customers in 80+ countries, including Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Linklaters, White & Case, Dentons and Barclays, and has reached $200M+ in ARR.

It has grown through acquisitions of Qura, Walter AI, Graceview, Cadastral and Wexler.

The company works with high-profile sports and entertainment figures, including Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees, Ludvig Åberg (and his caddie), and Jude Law in campaigns.

The team values ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions, high standards, direct and ego-free feedback, and growing together with the team and customers.

The role suits someone motivated by impact, pace and raising the bar.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship end-to-end features across the fullstack platform, writing code yourself while leading the team.
  • Make architecture calls and lead technical decisions.
  • Set and enforce standards for code quality, security and performance.
  • Work closely with Product and Design to deliver value quickly and reliably.
  • Review code, give feedback and mentor engineers at every level.
  • Push good practice in development, DevOps and continuous improvement.
  • Work daily with Node.js, React, Azure, AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Keep your team healthy and running efficiently every day.

Requirements

  • Have 1-3 years of leadership experience and a background as a fullstack or backend engineer.
  • Stay hands-on in the code while setting technical direction.
  • Have built scalable products and owned complex systems from start to finish.
  • Communicate clearly and lead with empathy.
  • Enjoy mentoring people and helping teams grow.
  • Work comfortably across backend, frontend and infrastructure.
  • Be curious and pragmatic, always looking for better ways to build and deliver.
  • Get things done. Understand that building a successful company takes hard work and long hours, not glamour.
  • Solve the most pressing problems on your own initiative.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced setting where answers are unclear and processes are minimal.
  • Candidates go through the same process as software engineers, including a coding task and a technical interview, followed by extra steps designed for the engineering manager role.

Conditions

London-based, working in the office 5 days a week, as the team believes building together in person gives better results.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on race, colour, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected characteristic.
