Description

Ten people die each day in Australia from preventable medical errors, usually from misdiagnosis, missing information, or decisions made under heavy pressure, not from incurable illness.

Doctors often spend around 40% of their day on paperwork rather than with patients, and the company is working to reduce that load.

The company turns recorded clinical conversations into accurate notes automatically, then handles the admin that follows: letters, documents, workflow automation, joining up patient data from disconnected systems, and messaging with patients and other clinicians.

Thousands of clinicians across several disciplines use the product daily in settings where accuracy and safety matter. The company is growing quickly in Melbourne, the UK and Asia and is currently pursuing large hospital and health network customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Enterprise Engineering team based in Melbourne and set the standard for enterprise delivery.
  • Own what ships and the quality bar it must meet, and shape an enterprise product on solid engineering foundations.
  • Spend roughly 20% of your time hands-on in code review, architecture discussions and unblocking your engineers.
  • Spend the rest of your time choosing which problems are worth solving, setting direction, and making sure the team understands the goal, why it matters and what can wait.
  • Define the enterprise engineering roadmap with Product and the Head of Engineering, and own delivery so milestones are met on the dates committed to customers.
  • Shape the foundations enterprise customers depend on, including reliability, security, scalability and integrations, and argue the business case for what gets built first.
  • Turn changing executive strategy into one clear, prioritised plan, including what the team will deliberately not do yet, and keep to it.
  • Challenge ideas from your team, Product and leadership with technical depth, and correct course early.
  • Build a team that can carry delivery through clear expectations, good delegation and ownership held by the people closest to the work.
  • Bridge executives and engineering, agreeing trade-offs with Product, Customer Success and Sales and pushing back where needed.
  • Shape how enterprise work strengthens the wider platform, working with senior technical leaders, the UK engineering team and other product squads.
  • Keep the team focused when many urgent issues compete. Explain plainly what is being deprioritised and why, and manage up with confidence.

Requirements

  • A strong hands-on engineering background, with enough depth to lead architecture and code review discussions rather than follow them.
  • A record of leading an engineering team that shipped meaningful product under pressure and through shifting priorities. Experience in high-growth start-ups is a good fit.
  • A proven ability to drive measurable results from engineering output that affects customers and ARR.
  • Experience building or scaling a product for enterprise customers, where reliability, security and delivery commitments matter.
  • A history of setting direction across competing stakeholders and turning conflicting demands into a plan the business supports.
  • A product mindset: you ask why something is being built and what outcome it gives the customer, not just how to ship the ticket.
  • Experience in healthcare, health tech or another regulated industry.
  • Exposure to clinical system integrations such as EMRs, HL7 or FHIR.
  • Experience leading teams across time zones, especially Australia and the UK.
  • Experience shipping AI or ML powered products in production.
  • Every enterprise deal puts the product in front of more clinicians, which gives more doctors time back and means fewer decisions under heavy pressure. The team you lead determines how quickly that happens and how far it can be trusted. If you want real impact, move with urgency and say hard things directly.
