Description

The team builds real-world software centred on operating systems and low-level development, and this internship puts you alongside experienced engineers on live product work in a demanding technical setting.

The role suits students who are keen on operating systems, embedded systems, Linux, and software that talks directly to hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Help with software work on operating systems and embedded software.
  • Work with engineers on products currently in development.
  • Build features and parts of products that appear on the team's roadmap.
  • Use what you have learned in coursework and technical projects to tackle engineering problems.
  • Collaborate closely with teammates and see how the industry approaches its practices.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Have completed or be taking courses in operating systems and embedded systems.
  • Bring experience from coursework, academic work, or personal projects involving Linux, robotics, microcontrollers, or embedded platforms.
  • Show a clear interest in low-level software and how software and hardware interact.
  • Show initiative in technology through hands-on projects, electronics, programming, or similar interests.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively.
  • Have exposure to Linux-based development environments.
  • Have experience with microcontroller boards or embedded systems projects.
  • Be interested in operating systems, embedded software, robotics, or hardware-oriented software development.
  • Bring curiosity, a drive to learn, and enthusiasm for solving technical problems.

Conditions

The role is based onsite in Walnut Creek, California, and you must work onsite at least three days per week in a hybrid setup with regular in-office collaboration.

You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, as visa sponsorship is not available.

The pay range is $4,000 to $5,000 USD, set through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, along with equity with other team members.

The company delivers solutions across automotive, aerospace and defense, energy, enterprise, telecommunications, industrial robotics, and medical technology.

Benefits

  • Support for your family, physical health, and mental health through a benefits package.
  • Social events, including sports groups and celebrations.
  • Holiday pay.
  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Discounts with various manufacturers and retailers.
