Description

The company is now a subsidiary of a larger firm, which adds resources to its digital transformation work.

It works on the next generation of remote sensing across airborne and ground-based systems and every orbit, from LEO and MEO to HEO and GEO.

The team builds, integrates, and supports customer mission systems, including real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization. It works alongside other leading industry firms to meet customers' most urgent needs.

The team is small and growing with the remote sensing field. It is hiring an embedded software engineer with strong C++ skills for its mission data processing group. The ideal person has built high reliability, high performance C++ applications, including real-time embedded ones, has improved processing speed, and has made design trade-offs in tightly constrained SWaP systems. This job suits someone who can work with little structure and check their own work, and who wants to handle hard remote sensing data and help customers turn it into practical solutions for their go-to-market plans.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Solutions Architects and Algorithm Engineers to build and optimize C++ code for real-time mission data processing signal chains.
  • Study data from remote sensing providers, such as EO/IR and hyperspectral sources, and tune signal processing chains for specific data and targets.
  • Help shape a signal processing architecture that is robust, repeatable, and adaptable.
  • Design solutions for low SWaP deployments, such as Versal ACAP devices.
  • Design, document, and test every solution thoroughly.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines so quality is part of the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with team members and leads to hit project milestones.
  • Follow applicable corporate and DoD processes and standards for quality, compliance, and security.

Requirements

  • You need a Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one, which requires US citizenship.
  • You have 8+ years of high performance C++ application development on Linux.
  • You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
  • You understand embedded systems and hardware acceleration.
  • You can document and explain software designs clearly.
  • You are comfortable with Git or a similar version control system.
  • You solve problems well and pay close attention to detail.
  • You work well alone and as part of a team.
  • You communicate and collaborate well.
  • You keep learning and track industry trends.
  • Desired: experience with Xilinx/AMD Versal ACAP platforms or similar, which is highly desired.
  • Desired: experience with the Vitis Unified Software Platform and Vivado Design Suite.
  • Desired: familiarity with FPGA design and hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog.
  • Desired: experience turning complex algorithms into production software.
  • Desired: experience with DoD or DoW projects.
  • Desired: a current US Secret security clearance.
  • Desired: strong CI/CD skills.
  • Desired: experience in other languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Desired: experience with AI-assisted software development tools and techniques.
