Description

The company is part of a healthcare organization working across Innovative Medicine and MedTech to prevent, treat and cure complex diseases with smarter, less invasive and more personal solutions.

The Orthopaedics teams build products for joint reconstruction, trauma and craniomaxillofacial work, sports, extremities and elective foot and ankle, spine, and robotics and digital surgery. Each year they help over 6 million people keep moving while providing clinical and economic value to surgeons and health systems.

The internship program gives interns business problems to solve, along with coaching, mentoring and networking. Interns also join a cohort of peers for shared learning and development sessions.

Internship areas: Digital Education and Learning Design, where you help evaluate and use software to build training materials for field sales consultants and outside healthcare providers; and Marketing, which covers either brand marketing for products already on the market or upstream global strategic marketing for product innovation and launch, plus research, forecasting and analytics that give the commercial organization insight into external markets.

Past interns have helped with curriculum development, learning contests, improving training for field sales, and improving the internship program. Projects and duties change with your team's needs, and you will work with internal stakeholders and possibly other interns.

Desired majors: business (marketing, digital, management, finance and similar), sales, education or behavioral science, computer, software, systems or data, and other related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Build a network of stakeholders inside and outside your department.
  • Complete projects that vary by function, working alone or in a team, on strategic business issues.
  • Present your final project or projects to key stakeholders in your department.

Requirements

  • You must be legally authorized to work in the US and must not need employer sponsorship for an employment visa now or in the future (for example H-1B or F-1).
  • You must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree and have completed at least your sophomore year of undergraduate study before the internship starts.
  • You need a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • You need strong communication, presentation and leadership skills.
  • You need to manage several projects at once and deliver results.
  • You need to be a self-starter who can work independently and still contribute to team goals.
  • Proven leadership or participation in campus or service programs is desired.
  • Students on CPT, OPT or STEM OPT usually need future sponsorship for long-term employment and do not qualify unless they hold another long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

Conditions

A typical internship runs from May or June through mid-August. Based on business needs and performance, you may be offered a 2028 internship or, where applicable, a full-time job starting June 2028.

Most assignments are at a J&J corporate office, though some roles are virtual or may require relocation. Your assignment area and work site are matched during the application process.

Some on-site roles may offer a housing stipend if you live more than 50 miles from the location.

The pay range is $23.50 to $52.50 per hour, based on your program year, discipline, degree and/or experience.

The posting is expected to close on 8/27/2027, but the company may extend that date and keep accepting applications.

The company offers an inclusive interview process and will provide accommodations to applicants with disabilities on request.

Benefits

  • Interns can join the company's medical benefit plans under the terms of each plan.
  • Sick time of up to 40 hours per calendar year, or up to 56 hours per calendar year for those living in Washington State.
  • Participation in the company's consolidated retirement plan (pension).
