Description

The team supports the military health system's traumatic brain injury (TBI) center from its headquarters in Silver Spring, MD, where the company's military health group is hiring.

The role moves the center's clinical and educational products into everyday use across the Military Health System. You will work with research, clinical, and education subject matter experts to plan how evidence-based recommendations and sound clinical practices for TBI care reach providers.

You will help find, gather, analyze, and present findings on how products are disseminated and adopted, and you will build and run implementation plans for those products.

You will advise the government on ways to improve how research is shared and how clinical best practices are adopted. Under government oversight, you will work with regulators and help with protocol development and management where needed.

The company is a global technology and professional services firm with about 26,000 staff, operating in more than 50 countries and serving U.S. government, defense, and intelligence agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Write strategic implementation and dissemination plans with measurable goals and metrics that carry clinical and educational products from research through clinical recommendations to full adoption or handoff to another owner.
  • Build in a way to make plans scalable across several markets so that products are adopted consistently throughout the Military Health System and patient outcomes improve.
  • Include a feedback loop that sends field input back to the development team to guide further work and expose gaps or needs nobody anticipated.
  • Help carry out implementation plans for TBI clinical and educational products across the system.
  • Recommend the level of service and operational support each rollout needs, with clear guidelines, ground rules, and defined roles.
  • Prepare and help maintain project plans, scope, schedules, timeline tracking, and status reports, and take part in internal, external, and project team meetings.
  • Create and coordinate system-wide metrics to raise the quality of care delivered across the system.
  • Manage implementation projects and provide training and support through each rollout for clinical or educational work.
  • Train TBI center staff in implementation science and its processes.
  • Find and develop collaboration opportunities with the Department of War, the Defense Health Agency, the Veterans Affairs, and civilian partners.
  • Track qualitative measures of TBI care and clinical practice guideline use, and advise the center's senior leaders on headquarters initiatives, site evaluations, and network problems.
  • You may supervise administrative staff assigned to specific projects.

Requirements

  • A doctorate with a focus on implementation science or a closely related field.
  • With government approval, a master's degree with a focus on healthcare implementation science or a closely related field may be accepted in place of a doctorate.
  • At least 5 years of implementation science work.
  • At least 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience leading a national-level dissemination and implementation project from initial planning through to completion.
  • Skills and background in health care, new program development, research, and traumatic brain injury.
  • No certifications are required.
  • Preferred: experience in military, Department of War, or VA health settings.
  • Preferred: additional project management training and a PMP certification.
  • Preferred: ability to work with research and clinical staff at every level, including military and civilian clinicians, researchers, and administrators.
