Description

The Academic and Government team helps the company's communities grow knowledge by establishing it, finding it and advancing it. The team turns research into peer-reviewed publications, maintains a large body of scholarly content, lets users draw insight from that content, and measures how good and how influential research is.

This role centres on growing the company's Research Intelligence business by winning new sales and expanding existing customer accounts across its main products.

You bring experience with consultative selling and complex SaaS solutions, plus knowledge of data analytics and artificial intelligence. You have also worked with research institutions.

  • Take a consultative approach to client needs, turn them into practical proposals, and align these with sales strategy and internal policies.
  • Build and carry out account plans that meet varied needs at every level of an account.
  • Keep Salesforce records accurate, and review sales results and forecasts in Clari.
  • Collect customer and market insight, confirm the company meets customer needs, and report against goals.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences with defined outcomes.
  • Bring together information from several sources to support decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience with the company's RI solutions and familiarity with east coast accounts.
  • Proven direct sales in the academic market, with consultative, complex solution selling.
  • Work effectively at operational, tactical and strategic levels, with a record of growing customer business.
  • Self-motivated, with a track record of selling technology and solutions.
  • Genuine commitment to building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Skill in strategic account planning and management, connecting the dots within customer institutions.
  • Experience selling enterprise software in an international matrix organization.
  • Background working with research administration and management functions.

Conditions

If the role is based in New Jersey, the base pay range is $124,663 - $199,137 and the total target cash range is $191,961 - $306,639.
