The company behind the PlayStation brand is hiring a Director, Program Management in its Portfolio & Program Management Office (PPMO).

The company is a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation. It makes PlayStation hardware and runs network services used by more than 100 million people, and it also owns well-known entertainment intellectual property (IP).

The role leads delivery, governance and strategy for e-commerce, payments and monetization work across the PlayStation platform.

You will run a set of large, cross-functional programs involving Product, Engineering, Finance, Tax, Legal, Operations, Customer Experience and Commercial teams, align senior leaders, shape investment decisions, and make sure programs deliver measurable results for customers and the business.

The ideal person has strong program leadership and working knowledge of digital commerce, payments, subscriptions, marketplaces, checkout, fraud prevention, tax and financial operations, and can work at both strategic and hands-on levels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of complex, high-profile initiatives that support PlayStation's commerce and monetization ecosystem.
  • Work with executives to set strategic goals, roadmaps, priorities, success measures and investment plans.
  • Align global and mission groups whose priorities and dependencies compete.
  • Set up operating models and governance that support sound decisions, clear accountability and good risk management.
  • Advise senior leaders on portfolio health, execution strategy, organizational readiness, capacity and investment choices.
  • Work with Product and Engineering leaders to assess business opportunities and build scalable plans to deliver them.
  • Make sure business, operational, regulatory, compliance and customer experience needs are built into planning and delivery.
  • Drive work that raises conversion, payment success, operational efficiency, scalability, compliance readiness and customer satisfaction.
  • Help shape how players discover and make purchases across their journeys.
  • Maintain portfolio planning, dependency tracking, forecasting, reporting and executive communication.
  • Spot delivery risks, resource gaps and execution problems early, and lead the response.
  • Manage complex dependencies across teams, business units and external partners.
  • Run executive reviews, planning cycles, governance forums and portfolio decisions.
  • Set and track outcome-based KPIs and benefits plans that show measurable business value.
  • Build and lead a program management organization that values execution, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Help program managers and senior program leaders grow professionally.
  • Build strong working relationships with senior leaders in Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Tax, Operations and Commercial.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, clarity, transparency, operational excellence and customer focus.
  • Drive execution across teams you do not manage directly.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading large technology programs, portfolios or product delivery organizations.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional programs across engineering, product and business teams.
  • A proven record in large, matrixed global organizations.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management and ability to influence.
  • Experience setting up governance models, portfolio processes, operating rhythms and executive reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a record of turning ambiguity into clear plans.
  • Experience leading mission-critical platforms, large transactional systems, digital commerce ecosystems or marketplaces serving millions of customers.
  • Deep experience in at least one of: e-commerce platforms, digital payments, payment processing and orchestration, checkout, subscription businesses, digital marketplaces, billing systems, fraud prevention and payments risk, financial operations platforms, or tax and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated expertise across end-to-end digital commerce, including revenue flows, customer transactions, payment authorization, fraud controls, taxation, settlements and subscription lifecycle management.
  • Experience developing and launching physical consumer technology products.
  • Preferred: experience in consumer technology, gaming, media, subscription, marketplace, commerce, payments or fintech.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methods.
  • Preferred: PMP, PgMP, SAFe or similar certifications are a plus.
  • You will work comfortably at both executive and hands-on levels, align teams without direct authority, balance strategy with disciplined execution, bring clarity to complex and ambiguous situations, build team capability, focus on customer and business outcomes over activity counts, raise risks early and see them through, build trusted partnerships across technical and business functions, and shape strategy while keeping execution sound.
