At Stark, we forge the future of European and national security through cutting-edge, AI-driven technology and unmatched engineering precision. As a premier defence technology company, our mission is clear: to equip NATO Allies and their partners with next-generation autonomous defence platforms and advanced AI-driven software built to perform in the world’s most demanding environments.
We believe that true security stems from relentless innovation. By combining elite engineering talent with agile technology and an AI-native operational culture, Stark turns complex defence challenges into field-tested, multi-domain solutions.
The Deployment Engineering team acts as the critical bridge between hardware assembly, software development, and operational readiness. We are responsible for bringing newly manufactured drone platforms to life by provisioning firmware, validating system baselines, and configuring network communications. Working closely with Embedded Software, QA, and Integration Engineers, our team ensures every platform that leaves the line is fully functional, secure, and mission-ready.
YOUR MISSION
You will own the end-to-end software deployment, firmware flashing, and baseline configuration across all onboard computing nodes on newly assembled drones. In this role, you will bridge the gap between production and software release engineering to ensure flawless operational readiness.
Responsibilities
Flash, configure, and validate Linux-based OS images, microcontrollers, and sensor payload firmware across newly built systems.
Develop and maintain automated deployment scripts (Python, Bash, Ansible) to streamline production-line flashing and bench testing.
Perform end-of-line integration verification, network configuration, and hardware-in-the-loop validation before field dispatch.
Troubleshoot complex hardware-software interaction issues on target platforms alongside embedded software and QA teams.
Document deployment workflows, configuration baselines, and flashing procedures to support scalable production operations.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE MISSION
3+ years of experience in deployment engineering, embedded systems integration, or systems administration within hardware/robotics.
Strong proficiency with Embedded Linux environments, shell scripting (Bash), and Python scripting.
Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, CAN bus, Ethernet) and hardware communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C).
Hands-on experience with hardware flashing tools, bootloaders, and firmware update mechanisms.
Requirements
Experience with containerization tools (Docker) on embedded architectures (ARM64/x86).
Familiarity with robotic middleware (ROS/ROS2) and PX4 or ArduPilot platforms.
Background in autonomous systems, aerospace, or defence technologies.
If you're interested in building the future of European Defence with us, and you see yourself reflected on the description above, please send us your CV in English . We're looking forward to meeting you!
SECURITY CLEARANCE
