Data Scientist

Description

The company serves the US federal government with technology work for defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health clients. It has more than 13,000 people and operates as a technology business within a larger global organization.

The role centers on detailed file and data analysis using statistical and quantitative methods, plus visualizations that help leaders decide. You will also build software that tracks and runs data pipeline work, and help create automated systems that improve data processing and insight generation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data with statistical and quantitative techniques.
• Build charts and visual displays that show trends, patterns, and insights for decision-makers.
• Write software that monitors, automates, and manages data pipeline tasks.
• Clean, reshape, and convert complex datasets into insights you can act on.
• Manipulate data and run extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Contribute to AI and ML projects and modern data platforms.

Requirements

• Experience with AI and ML technologies.
• Ability to work with many data file types, including geospatial imagery, JSON, XML, and others.
• Strong quantitative analysis, visualization, and complex dataset processing skills.
• Hands-on experience building ETL workflows and manipulating data.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Python development experience, plus other languages, for cleaning, transforming, and automating data work.
• Required clearance: TS/SCI or higher.
• Desired: experience applying NLP algorithms to pull information from documents.
• Desired: background in enterprise computer vision, automated data collection and reporting, and data standardization practices.
• Desired: proven depth in mathematics, statistics, and quantitative analysis.
• Desired: familiarity with classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, and causal modeling.

Conditions

TS/SCI clearance or higher is required.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, the base pay range is $120,400 to $234,700 USD, shown as required by local law.

Final pay depends on office location, role, skill set, and experience.
