Description

You will join a technology company that works with the US federal government. Its 13,000+ people serve clients in defense, national security, public safety, civilian, and military health organizations.

The role provides security engineering and sustainment support for an agency's application systems. The work covers security from development through operations and brings machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) into the agency's security tools.

You will handle application system administration, configuration, and tuning, and help the Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) through the ATO and ATT process.

Responsibilities

  • Run, set up, maintain, tune, and harden application systems so they avoid unneeded POA&Ms and risk. Write and keep current the tuning and O&M procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage mandated applications under the agency's SOC control across the full software lifecycle.
  • Give the ISSOs complete, accurate documentation for the ATO and ATT process.
  • Build, release, and connect ML and AI tools within the agency's security suite.
  • Carry out weekly security impact reviews and help assess vendor products for security risk.
  • Watch CSD-managed applications continuously, raise alerts for critical incidents, and report status daily.
  • Track application configuration items in the change management tool and keep them within change management policy.
  • Make sure application logging meets federal security logging mandates, and help the CSD Service Desk fix vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Five years in system administration, database administration, network engineering, software engineering, or software development with a cyber security focus. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field can replace two of those years, leaving three years of experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of federal security standards and application security best practices.
  • Preferred: CompTIA Security+ or AWS Certified Security Specialty.

Conditions

A TS/SCI clearance is required for certain roles that support an elevated-access program.

Pay is set by location, role, skill set, and experience. For roles in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, the base pay range is $94,000 - $178,700 USD.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no fixed closing date.

The company is committed to equal opportunity and an inclusive workplace for everyone.

Benefits

  • A broad range of benefits is available.
  • Hands-on experience, certifications, and industry training support your growth.
